He's breaking out the meme and gif folder!
Nice - thanks for posting.
Hard to believe (the other) Mark Smith's visits were to Illinois, Nevada-Reno, Missouri, Bradley, and Drake. Today he would be a high-major recruit with a ton of Power 5 offers.
For better or worse, the Eddie Johnson / Mark Smith years planted the seeds of my lifelong Illinois addiction.
Bradley was a pretty darn good program back in those days. Miles ahead of today.
Any MI affiliates making the trip? LOL
Hondo was already there, so no need
some noise on another Illini forum that MS faxed in LOI to Mich St. late last nite or early this morning....hope it is BS

It's the free scout forum so take it with a grain of salt.. but have your cup ready to go at a moments notice.
True or not, how is "faxing" still a thing?? Of course, in some cases, DOS is still a thing so...

Sitting here at work and trying to plot the fastest way home so I am able to pull up the stream before the 6pm hour..........then I realized what time zone I am in and that I have an hour.....Looks like I'm cruising home!
No doubt, both he and Derrick played on that very good Richwoods team.No question, but the list as a whole reads like the list for a guy who was a reach, which he wasn't. Smith averaged 27 pts and 17 rebounds for an outstanding AA basketball school. He was clearly a B1G level recruit. I think the list says a lot about how recruiting was more local vs. national in the old days.
FIRST TEAM
Player of the Year
Trevon Duval, G, IMG Academy, 6-3/175, Sr.
Duval led IMG Academy to the first round of the DICK’S High School Nationals, averaging 16.2 points and 7.7 assists per game for the Ascenders (26-1). An American Family Insurance ALL-USA Boys Basketball First Team selection, he scored eight points for the East team in the McDonald’s All-American game.
Trent Frazier, G, Wellington, 6-2/165, Sr.
The Illinois signee poured in 27.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for Class 9A semifinalist Wellington.
Chaundee Brown, F/G, The First Academy (Orlando), 6-5/205, Sr.
Brown, Florida’s Gatorade Player of the Year and a Jordan Brand Classic selection, compiled season averages of 24.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for the Royals, who reached the Class 4A regional final.
Kevin Knox, F, Tampa Catholic , 6-8/205, Sr.
One of the nation’s top senior recruits, Knox averaged a double-double this past season (28.9 points, 11.3 rebounds) and was named Mr. Basketball.
RaiQuan Gray, F/C, Dillard (Fort Lauderdale), 6-8/235, Sr.
Gray was a huge factor in leading Dillard to its second consecutive Class 7A state title, recording a combined 36 points and 19 rebounds in the semifinals and state final.
2016-17 ALL-USA Florida Boys Basketball Team
Maybe I will finish in time to actually watch the announcement.
I took an early lunch to watch the Cliff Alexander hat ceremony live at a Buffalo Wild Wings. I regret it to this day.

Jim Matson is awesome! He does whatever he can do to get players recognized in HS sports!
I grew up with Lee Hall on my TV. Hall is excellent by every measure, but I've been wowed by just how much Mattson breathes high school and college sports.
