Nice - thanks for posting.

Hard to believe (the other) Mark Smith's visits were to Illinois, Nevada-Reno, Missouri, Bradley, and Drake. Today he would be a high-major recruit with a ton of Power 5 offers.

For better or worse, the Eddie Johnson / Mark Smith years planted the seeds of my lifelong Illinois addiction.

Bradley was a pretty darn good program back in those days. Miles ahead of today.

No question, but the list as a whole reads like the list for a guy who was a reach, which he wasn't. Smith averaged 27 pts and 17 rebounds for an outstanding AA basketball school. He was clearly a B1G level recruit. I think the list says a lot about how recruiting was more local vs. national in the old days.

Accurate. Sadly, it looks like I will be in a combination of meetings and the dentist's office during the announcement. At least that means I won't need a cup either way.

True or not, how is "faxing" still a thing?? Of course, in some cases, DOS is still a thing so...

I'm a high school counselor. You wouldn't believe the number of colleges and universities that won't take a PDF from an unsecured source (like my school email account). They require that it be faxed instead.

Sitting here at work and trying to plot the fastest way home so I am able to pull up the stream before the 6pm hour..........then I realized what time zone I am in and that I have an hour.....Looks like I'm cruising home!

I may be able to leave my meeting early enough to see the announcement. Here's to hoping... then it will be a mad sprint back to my office and...

No doubt, both he and Derrick played on that very good Richwoods team.

I have decided to go physically play basketball during the announcement, that way if we get nut punched, you can't tell if I am sweating or crying.

The very first Illinois BB game I ever watched was the game that EJ made the winning shot to beat Magic Johnson and MSU when the Spartans were #1 in the country. Life long Illini since and UofI graduate Class of 86.

I took an early lunch to watch the Cliff Alexander hat ceremony live at a Buffalo Wild Wings. I regret it to this day.

I was sitting around a TV with my family. I don't remember why they were all in town. That might have been the first F-bomb I dropped in front of my parents. Took me almost 30 years before it happened.
