The fact that Whitman is going to Kansas shows how thin the market is for grad-transfer bigs. Yikes.

Agree - but it's kind of like free money. Even if a guy isn't that good, it doesn't cost you any future scholarships, so if you aren't going to use it anyway, why not give it to a grad transfer that can be a depth player.

Which is why I'm getting nervous we're not getting any. We really need the ISU guy now, he seems to be the only one we're in on

I haven't heard of us going after Kameron Rooks, 7-1, 260 pounds, but it seems we should. He's exactly what we need - a big body to rebound and block shots that is ready to play in the big ten right now. Avg. 17 mpg the last 2 seasons, 5pts. 4 rebounds, but that's all we need out of him.

Illinois is one of nine on Cal graduate transfer Kameron Rooks list according to this article:

True, but these grad transfers want PT. Whitman must be convinced he's going to see the floor at KU.

Akoy Agau transferring from Georgetown. 6'8" big with two years remaining, immediately eligible. Not much of an offensive threat, but the kid can rebound. His Def Rebound % last season would have trailed on Leron on our squad (23%). I'd go after him.

It would make perfect sense...the guys that the staff seems to be chasing over 6'8 seem to be more rebounding/defensive players...guess that's about right with all our guards/wings we have/will get!

Get him

Akoy Agau will graduate and transfer from Georgetown, per a source. Expected to have 2 years of eligibility. Averaged 4.5 PPG & 4.3 RPG.

former top 100 player could be an option.

Yes! This guy would be incredible. It seems strange he'd transfer out after Ewing gets there, though. I wonder if it was him, Ewing, or mutual.

57-67 (.851 %) on free throws this year. :thumb:

Did Underwood mention anything about pursueing transfers in that interview he had a week or so ago? I think I remember him saying they will definitely pursue them but it seems like they really haven't pressed for one. Although that could be a side effect of how quiet this staff is.

Pass on Rooks, IMHO, doesn't fit BU's scheme. Plus he has had injuries and the tape that I watched of him, looks like he has concrete in his shoes.

Rooks has size but Gonzaga article says his friend is on bulldogs squad, with last year's performance and what they lost seems like he would be heading there.

I saw him play once in high school. He would be a great pickup. If I recall he first played at Louisville and then transferred to gtown. So this would be a second transfer? I also don't understand how he would be immediatly eligible.

Makes sense if he had to sit out a year he probably already finished his undergrad degree so would be eligible for a grad transfer.

This maybe an absurd question but what are the rules for someone who graduates after the fall semester? Would he be eligible to play elsewhere? Are there even rules in place for such a scenario?

There are no rules requiring him to sit, so I'd guess he could play right away.
