I'll take a 3 star team player that has bb iq, over any 5 star look at meme ,1 and done, any day of the week. The team player will give more than you ever get from 1and done.
My hope is 1 more 2017, if we can find someone, finding 2 at this point seems like a stretch, 2 grad transfers, 1 unfilled. We should expect to see something happen soon with at least 2 more commitments, we have a good recruiting staff.
So apparently the rumor among Mizzou fans now is that Walker improperly recruited Tilmon, and Mizzou found out about and has turned Walker into the NCAA. And that they won't accept a recruitment from him until they know the repercussions.
Could that be why Tilmon didnt make a move, got a heads up about Heirman to Depaul, and others, and was asked to wait? Recruiting is so crazy....
Depaul is the perfect place for him. Best wishes.

Good to know that our fanbase isn't the only that will throw around the "improper recruiting" card as soon as a recruitment doesn't go our way.
Hmmm. DePaul gets a 5-star commit before we do with their assistants on the job a matter of days. Yeah.
Don't get me wrong, I REALLY like Mark Smith, but when is our turn going to come.....starting to wonder if it ever will. Have to keep holding out hope.
Campbell is overrated, imo. He is not as good as Smith. Plus DePaul obviously hired his high school coach to get him.

Leito doesn't give a rat's butt about repercussions. He'll take him.
Mo Scott is a bozo but it's on twitter so it's news. I guess.

Per Mo Scott, DePaul might moving in as leader for Tilmon. They are bringing in his former prep school coach and PG. @MizzouHoops @IlliniMBB
Based on BU's style of play and his own character, this surprises me not at all. If your system was a lot of isolation, maybe you don't need team players with high buy in and commitment. From what I can tell, BU is the total opposite. He really capitalizes on guys buying in and committing to the system. Gonna require a high motor, selfless play, high bbIQ, and good character. It only takes one player to really mess up a system that relies on well oiled team play and trust.
I'm sure no other recruits are hoping to make it into the NBA. We should cherish Tilmon for his disloyalty and ambiguous recruitment because he has his eyes on making it to the NBA.
+infinityCan we stop doing this thing where attack the character of teenagers who don't choose to play basketball at UI and praise the kids that choose us as having more character and morals. This is the biggest decision of their life up to this point. This is doubly true for Tilmon because he has his eyes on making it to the NBA.
Tilmon has done nothing wrong in his recruitment. It is a tough decision especially with the coaching change involved. He and the family in all truthfulness have been largely quiet through his asking out of his letter of intent and where he will go next year. Any high school player has the right to choose the school and coach that they believe fits them the best. We shouldn't bash someone just because Illinois may end up not being their choice
