Many thought that Tilmon would not fit well within Underwood's system due to the lack of athleticism and mobility. I have seen Coleby play a few times, and he is not the player who oozes with athleticism and mobility, and he has been significantly slowed down after his ACL injury.

So I wonder why people think he would be a "good fit."

I don't think we're going to find an Anthony Davis type player available right now. Any big available is not going to be the athletic, run the floor, rebound, touch from the outside, while being a good passer that would be the ideal "fit".

We just need a big that can rebound and defend the post. It's as simple as that. Coleby appears to be able to fill that need as would Agau.

While I really want Alstork, I'm more concerned about getting Agau. Hopefully we can seal the deal with both of them. IMO, you had those two and you for sure have an NCAA tourney team. Alstork adds enough scoring prowess that we would have one of the better backcourts in the Big Ten.

If Alstork takes SF minutes, I think Kipper gets quite a few minutes backing up both forward slots.

You're right. Right now Nichols will have a play a lot of minutes, if we get another big, it would cut into his minutes, but he could still force his way into more minutes. He's part of the 9 man rotation for sure.

I do not think that anyone is questioning the need, but that is different than saying Coleby is a "good fit." If you read the question, it is for those who thought Tilmon would not be a a good fit, why would Coleby be a good fit? Both fit the need category.

In terms of depth chart it's more like:
PG Smith, Lucas, D Williams
SG JCL, Frazier, Jordan
SF Alstork, Nichols
PF Black
C Finke

I see Smith, JCL and Fraier getting the bulk of minutes in the Guard slots
Alstork has his table set, he plays the bulk of minutes
Need at least one more big to spell Black and Finke and ideally two bigs
I would say its more like

true PG TJL
combo smith, trent, daWill
big finke, black

2 3 4 everyone else

According to his Tweeter, LSU is his last OFFICIAL visit.

His tweet did say last official visit. He's also said he will make a decision on the 19th or 20th. Not clear if he'll squeeze in an unofficial with Louisville before then.

Did a little info search on Coleby, from what I saw he has size, might be a good rim defender/rebounder, doesn't look really quick at all. Didn't play much last year, but in KU lineup, not a surprise. We need a big but he looks like he might be a little bit slower than we need . IDK, let some your keen eyes tell what you think. Dwight Coleby/ KU Grad transfer.:illinois:

Mark Alstork, Mikyle Mcintosh, Akoy Agau, Kameron Rooks

Any chance UI could land all 4, or even 2 of these. I think that we should not use up scholarships and load up with talent from 2018 and 2019. if we sign some seniors, then we don't waste scholarship opportunities on bodies, just to fill a roster spot. Bringing in four more recruits next year, after the ones we bring in this year sounds appealing. Use the 4 open scholarships on guys who can play now and then, we can even out the classes so we can recruit for 2018, 2019 and even 2020...maybe?

I really am just asking if it's a possibility that we could land 2 or 3 of these guys.

All are possibilities except Rooks imo.

Maybe we can get a tall tight end from the football team to walk on as a backup Pf at this point... does :illinois: have a mens volleyball squad ?
