2017 Basketball Transfer Thread

In light of our current options for inside players...a 1 year inside force from KU of all places...we could do worse.

From Bahama's maybe he's heard of a certain Asst Coach we have? I would take him and Alstork with current class and carry over 2 + into 2018?

even if you get both you still try to get Agau he could get an extra year so would be good for 18, plus I think they still want Iggy to reclass if they can get him. I still think no matter what we will have at the very least 3 scollies for 18 I think we will have 4 though just a hunch

Coleby is a very similar player to Agau - his stats his last year at ole miss and Agau's stats last year are eerily similar.

I think Coleby has a little more offensive game, but I think the staff would obviously take both if they can get them. They will both get a lot of minutes and allow Finke to play the stretch 4 that he is suited for. But, I doubt both would come here.

Alstork and Coleby only use a scholly for one year, so really no-regret offers.

If we somehow get all three, I think we're a legit tourny team next year!

Based on the 247 page he appears to have graduated so he would be eligible immediately.

I wonder why he transferred from Ole Miss.

Looks like he would've been in position to get a lot of minutes his Jr year there. Instead, he transfers to KU, has to sit a year, and then rides the bench.

More on Coleby.

Looks like he tore his ACL in Sept 2015

Alstork looks like an Illini....
With Louisville now apparently out of the picture, I guess Mark has by now reached his decision. Given we have only 9 spots currently filled, I do believe we have to eventually sign a player or two. Alstork seems to be the most likely based upon what I'm reading. If his commitment comes to fruition, this just may be the most guard-oriented roster we've ever had.

CASH - you weren't terribly definitive, but I do trust this prognostication will make you 2 for 2! As always, thanks for your insights.

I'm putting Alstork in the bank. Who's next?

Many thought that Tilmon would not fit well within Underwood's system due to the lack of athleticism and mobility. I have seen Coleby play a few times, and he is not the player who oozes with athleticism and mobility, and he has been significantly slowed down after his ACL injury.

So I wonder why people think he would be a "good fit."

Does anybody know if we are even talking to this kid? Obviously we are desperate for bigs but don't want to get excited over a potential player if we aren't even in communication.

OK, time to try this again, now with CASH's confirmation that an Alstork commitment is highly likely:

1. So Guard - T. Lucas
2. Fr Guard - D. Williams
3. Fr Guard - M. Smith
4. Fr Guard - T. Frasier
5. Jr Guard - J. Coleman-Lands
6. Jr Guard - A. Jordan
7. Sr Guard - M. Alstork
8. So Forward - K. Nichols
9. Jr Forward - M. Finke
10.Jr Forward - L. Black
11. OPEN
12. OPEN
13. OPEN

Time for some bigs!!!

In terms of depth chart it's more like:
PG Smith, Lucas, D Williams
SG JCL, Frazier, Jordan
SF Alstork, Nichols
PF Black
C Finke

I see Smith, JCL and Fraier getting the bulk of minutes in the Guard slots
Alstork has his table set, he plays the bulk of minutes
Need at least one more big to spell Black and Finke and ideally two bigs

I don't think many folks were concerned with Tilmon's lack of athleticism/mobility in Underwood's system as much as a questionable jumper/+passer from the high post that "skilled bigs" like Finke possess.

Either way, that also doesn't look like Coleby's game.

If Alstork takes SF minutes, I think Kipper gets quite a few minutes backing up both forward slots.
