Thanks Mike. No one can see this without concluding THT is an elite offensive player. I like THT as much as Ayo. Ayo will create more national sizzle if we get him, but THT is perfect for BU's system. Getting both of those guys would be a dream.

Great Talent

Not just yet. Still holding out that we hired Antigua for a reason. That would be DeSousa or Sow. Sow starts scheduling visits next week. I bet we get one.!!

Visit maybe, commit, no. Maybe next year, we still have to win. We get on map, then they will come.;)

I agree.. You can hope to recruit nationally w/ a coach at a new program with an assistant who's never coached with him and you might have some modicum of success but your pitch is a lot stronger after winning some games with him.

It's essentially like being a salesman pitching a product he's never tried and the guy you're pitching it to can look that up.

I don't have hope for DeSousa but would gladly take Sow and Conditt- especially if Conditt could redshirt a year

Obviously DeSousa would be a homerun get though

Why is it that some struggling programs can start landing impact recruits right away under new leadership, but Illinois has a "we have to win first" caveat? It's an oft-repeated trope across the Illini message boards.

Now I'm not expecting to start pulling elite talent from all over the country overnight by any means, but plenty of coaches hit the ground running at places with less to offer than Illinois.

Two of the best recruiting classes in the B1G for 2017 are coached by guys that have never won a game in the B1G. tOSU and Illinois

I agree. No doubt winning helps, but a good salesman can get it done before winning big.

And you're right -- there are plenty of examples of coaching staffs attracting big-time recruits w/o having a winning program to sell.

I'm glad our staff doesn't have the "poor me" attitude that some posters here do.

I dont think we need big time recruits. We need hungry players that fit our system well.

Anyone else staying up late watching Zion vs BBB? Haven't learned much that I didn't already know about the two. Zion can't shoot, constantly missing free throws and jump shots but is a freak athlete. Lamelo shoots from anywhere, passes rarely, and plays defense even less

Adidas easily could have done these games tonight at Cox Pavillion. The Ball/Zion effect is something else. Sonny V would love this.

This says everything about Lamelo & more so about Lavar.

Jared Dudley is not impressed.
