Nope not at all. I think Dee realizes when you lose a $200,000/year job that you need to get income from somewhere. Just rumored that he is looking to Self for help. Currently, coaching for the Irvins.
Doesn't he coach Meanstreets?

I do not know what happened with Dee, not going to speculate out of respect for Dee.
The picture TCTORNADO posted with Self is just showing that Dee is making the rounds, much like he was just on campus with Underwood. It is his responsibility as an AAU coach, we shouldn't read more into it than that, IMHO

Fast-rising Indianapolis wing Aaron Henry (@henny2x) tells me he'll visit the #Illini campus on Saturday. Per Piper*
Also we didn't make Hellems final seven.
I thought Griffin was visiting tomorrow?

Welcome Zion Griffin to campus today.![]()

Not going into detail, AND NOT Having all the facts, there was alot of Twitter chat that Dee had and more photos. I'm pretty sure Whitman was not happy.
It sounds like Dee wasn't too happy with himself.
I'm going to resist speculating, and be glad that those involved decided they could handle it privately. Seems like some things are better that way.
I hope that doesn't mean whatever Dee did was something against the best interests of UI and in the interests of KU.

I know the smallest amount of information compared to the rest of you. What Dee did happened before he left the University and has NOTHING to do with what happened last month.
My understanding is - He made a serious and stupid mistake while being employed by the University. It will be difficult for the University to overlook what happened in order to approve his hiring again the future. I'm not certain it is out of the realm of possibilities, but it would be very difficult.
Dee is still an Illini through and through, and for those of you who have met him you know he bleeds O&B.
[FONT="]The Musketeers sit in a great spot with five-star guard Ayo Dosunmu, and as they continue to battle Illinois and Kansas along with a handful of others, a commitment to the Musketeers should come as no surprise. They do need to add further ammunition to its backcourt and on the wings; they remain in the recruitments of Noah Locke, Isaiah Mucius, Aaron Henry and Talen Horton-Tucker.
This is the 2nd post I've seen about this and I just gotta say something...
It wasnt one big stupid thing that Dee did. If that was the case, we would have heard about it. Come on now y'all! This is the type of speculation that is unfair to the former player and the University!
It was a serious of things that were taking place, actions, decision's, lifestyle choices, that were contrary to Dee's normal charecter, and outside the parameters of the role that he was specifically contracted & signed up to do here at the University. Because he was unable to show significant progress in the time given, regarding these issues... It was in the best interest of Dee and the University, that he resigned.
But to say that it was one big thing and that he would not be allowed to be employed at the UofI again is taking it too far! That's Twitter rumors gone crazy and just pure speculation! Speculation that is unfair to all involved, imo.

What you shared above and then again in this post is along the lines of what I heard as well. Dee was in a bad place, as is expected going through that type of situation. As I said, I only had a small bit of knowledge, so you clearly have even more inside information on this than I. I knew he was struggling, and I knew he made some stupid decisions. The problem was, as the poor decisions racked up, and some of them became more and more serious, it turned into a problem.
None of my post was meant to drag Dee through the mud. I've met him many times, I lived a few doors down from him in college. He is a great guy. He was the face of our University for a few precious years. He was amazing to the community and to the fans and kids. I want him back in the athletic department as bad as anyone. From what it sounds like, he is back on the right track and I hope he is able to get back into coaching soon.![]()
It's not easy to give up $200,000/yr plus a great benefit package to shake hands and tell stories.![]()
My guess is combes and/or TCTORNADO are probably there, sporting their Illini gear and being honed in on his recruitment like flies on garbage. Hope the visit is going well for the young man.Any word on Griffin visit?
