I might need to get on some bragging rights tickets

I don't think it'll be competitive really, Mizzou should be heavy favorites. They might be a top 10 team now.

The good news is, this is all coming now while Illinois reloads as opposed to different waves of Porters.

Just saw that the younger Porter brother is headed to Mizzou for the 2017 season... is he immediately eligible??

It is going to make it soo much sweeter when we beat them :D

I thought I saw something that said he wouldn't be able to play until December. I could be completely wrong hahaha

Uhm. Just no. A bunch of freshmen mostly post players and not much coming back at all. I think they will be much more talented obviously, but the only people who think they will be a top ten team live in Columbia Mo. I think it will be a very good game and I still like our chances with a much better coach and stronger backcourt.

The Wake Forest game got easier, they were handed a huge blow last week when one of their most experienced and best players, their starting PF/C, Dinos Mitoglou decided to forego his last year of eligibility and sign with Euroleague powerhouse Panathinaikos.

Zero chance mizzou is a top ten team....they were the worst P5 school last year, i don't even know if BU makes them top 10.

And speaking of Mizzou, happy to see them missing from Ayo's top 11

how does the younger Porter (6'11") reclassifying effect JT? lots of bigs on that squad now and have to think Porters, with dad on staff, will be the priority

Might be where Jack Whitman ends up.

Nothing earth shatteringly new or noteworthy in the article below but I like this BU quote:

"I couldn't be happier with (the freshmen); I love this group, not only as players but I love their personalities," Underwood said. "They all have a charisma about them that excites me; they're fun. They're going to get thrown into it early. They’re going to have to play. My expectation level for them is extremely high.”

Never really like it when a starter on an opposing team doesn't play for whatever reason. If we win it will only be because they are missing their starting PF/C (or so the story will be) and if we lose then we got beat by a team that is missing its starting PF/C. Lose/lose situation even if we win.

they wont be missing a starter because he is no longer on the team. they may fall in rankings and I expect that to be the primary impact.

On injuries, sure. But does not apply to players turning pro. I do not think anyone downplayed any wins against Illinois, or viewed them as "lose-lose" situations in 2005-06 for example because Deron Williams decided to turn pro. Mitoglou signed a 4-year contract with one of the best Euroleague teams, one of the best teams outside the NBA. It was not a compromise situation of a player deciding to return home, it is one of the best contracts a college player can sign right off the bat outside the NBA.

Joel Goodson

ties will be resolved
Concrete dates for Alstork's and Vesel's arrivals? School starts the 28th, but am hopeful these guys get to CU in the next week. Anyone know when the rest of the team returns to CU? (Finke excluded, lol).

Really, really hate seeing this. CBB is by far my favorite sport and seeing more and more kids go overseas/declare early just lowers the talent level.

Maybe that's a bit selfish and if the kid got a degree then I'm all for him leaving, but I personally think if you're going to college on a scholarship you should stay until you get a bachelors. So many kids come out of school with 100k+ of debt. There should be some respect for what a university offers, in terms of education. /rant

Eh, including the Big East, Depaul was much worse off. But of the football P5's yes Mizzou stunk. Ironically, I thought their guard play was the best part of their system. Will be interesting to see if Martin can put together a cohesive team by Christmas. Having the brothers together should be a huge boost.

I would assuming both Porters and Tilmon could play together. Those three in any lineup is very intimidating.

#873
Oh, they'll play together. Thing is, Tilmon isn't going to see the ball very often.

I watched a few East St Louis games this year, and something that stuck out to me was that Tilmon does not pass well under pressure.

The porters will be fine, but Tilmon will be overwhelmed by BU's high pressure defense

You forgot to add the "Muahahaha"(evil laugh) in honor of all still bitter and slightly vindictive O&B fans

I don't think its purely vindictive to question how quickly Tilmon can make an impact playing alongside 2 other 6'10 freshmen who were rated more highly than him especially if you watched much of his occassionally underwhelming SR season at ESL.

I always got an Elijah Thomas like feeling in regards to Tilmon. I just get the feeling he won't be that good. But you never know.
