and like fans everywhere --
"I'm guessing we stopped recruiting him...we gave him some sort of deadline and he wasn't interested. Kudos to the staff for allocating their resources to realistic student-athletes that are sincerely interested in NU. Also, a final 13 is pretty much a joke in my book. Narrow it down to 5-6 and move on".

13 is very odd number. Hope he trims b4 Ayo

Ridiculous! Makes him look bad. That's not cutting your list.

Wow people relax.. I'm sure he has a real "top 5" but even if not it's his decision how he does this... oh and then there's this:

Horton-Tucker came out with a list of 13 schools Sunday night, a number he said he arrived at in memory of his late grandmother.

“I was 13 years old when my grandmother passed away, and I know she would have been a big part of this process if she were around,” Horton-Tucker said.

It might start moving once he gets back in school and around Coach Smith. Henriksen has said he doesn't have a 'camp' like a lot of kids - basically it's his mother and uncle and Robert Smith -- and Talen has been overwhelmed by the offers and such. Don't think he was expecting to blow up quite like he did.
I think CPS starts this week.

Cps starts next Tuesday September 5

Are we paying any attention to the order? Not alphabetical, so that always catches my eye.

I understand it doesn't really mean anything, but I just always find it interesting when recruits release lists in non-alpha order.

I think most would believe this is an Illinois, MSU, Kansas race.

Kansas will likely take themselves out of the running with other recruits. But talen better keep his eyes open with Aaron Henry looking strongly at MSU and Landers nolley looking strongly at Illinois he doesn't want to wait too long.

Personally id taken Dosunmu, Nolley, and horton-tucker if they all wanted to commit.

Fake news.

I do feel bad for Northwestern fans, though.

You big softy.

Can anyone dig up who said NW was the leader or almost a "lock" not but a month or so ago? I'd like to publicly shame them ;)

Jeremy Werner said Northwestern was the leader or something to that effect on the Tay and J show a month or two ago.

Thank you, THT

Thanks to all that didn't make the cut but after much consideration I have been inspired to show you all a top 13 list of my favorite, original American colonies: MA, RI, CT, NH, DE, NY, NJ, PA, MD, VA, NC, SC and GA.

Love my Illini,
:chief:

Torrence Watson decommits (sp?) from OSU. He picked OSU over Missouri and being a St. Louis native the odds are he will be going to Missouri but according to this article Illinois is in the picture.

https://trumanstales.com/2017/08/27/torrence-watson-reopens-recruitment-missouri/

Not on our priority list I can tell you that. Holtmann and staff needed players this year, and tried to get Watson and Musa Jallow to fill those roles and re-class. Jallow was able to re-class, Watson was not therefore I think this was a mutual decision between him and tOSU..

Think he winds up at SLU or Mizzou.

Is he the one who said that he was going to end up closer to home than people think? Leading people here to freak out that meant NU? Now that would seem pretty good, no?

Was thinking this, too. If the whole "playing close to home" thing holds any weight and his "camp" is really just his mom uncle & RSmith, that seems to bode well...
