No doubt Griffin has tremendous potential. The 247 ratings, though, are all over the place. They have Finke above THT, Nolley, and Castleton. I doubt if anyone on this site believes that.

Agreed, but at the end of the day, one service usually drives others somewhat. I still think Griffin will end up ranked higher...that said, he is out of play-Dammit- lol, so we end up with?

Conditt, Ayo, Sow/Ignas, and THT?

A lot of visits under way this weekend, but so far, no relevant news. With Devon Dotson at KU this weekend and Immanuel Quickley there next weekend, we have to hope one of those guys commits. Getting Kansas out of the way is an important step in landing Ayo. We are in that period where a commitment at one school has a ricocheting effect.

Nunn was absolutely huge at the time. I'd probably put them about even for the importance to each new staff. I think Smith probably has a higher ceiling, but Kendrick was a monster get for Groce.

I can't believe I'm reading Nunn being compared to Mark Smith.

Mark Smith is probably the most talented guard we've had since Deron Williams... And he is a Mr. Illinois basketball.

Kendrick Nunn is a shooting guard who was inconsistent, regularly faded down the stretch, and was never a "go to" player. He was a very solid secondary option behind a star like Jabari Parker in h.s.

Nunn's inability to stay focused on the court and dribble a basketball really limited his ceiling. Solid shooting guard but his lack of a handle really limited what he could do.

OV and commitment high season kicks off and will be very interesting. Yeah, the "ricochet effect" is always huge. Two points:

- Sunday mornings are too early for news. The only news that really matters is if a kid commits. Soonest we'll hear something is late this afternoon or this evening. Most kids take a day or two to mull it over, before they commit.

- KU's 2018 PG derby is only of interest if Ayo wants to go there. That isn't clear. 'Course, KU is the 1000# gorilla in the room, so it's very understandable to keep close tabs on their recruiting.

Quickley is going to UK.

Heard Dotson and Williamson are a package to KU, and that it is likely that Barrett heads to UK and Reddish heads to Duke. Leaving KU as a good spot for Williamson.

I take it you slept during Nuance 101.

Surprising if true, simply because we just made the offer last month along with 5 or 6 other Power 5's. He's a high-major player

But we can't recruit all of them:illinois:

Think that backing out, may not be term, letting him know you're #2 on the list. THT is the one we want, and he may go elsewhere. Finke was the top dog not so long ago, now he is far down the list. To say recruiting is fluid, is an understatement.

Ayo is still our priority and pretty sure everyone in college basketball knows that. His visits are upcoming, and we are not on the list yet. IMO, think his cross-country junket is a look where I could go, and pleasure trip more than anything. Time will tell and so will his next cutdown list.

Next weekend will be a good gauge of who and where we stand on a big man. Staff is giving little info, but hopefully we will get a commitment . Not sure who the choice is , but we will know whom the staff wants, as it is their choice. Been an interesting ride so far, ready to see some basketball, and let rest all take it's course. Think we got a great thing going, time to see it on the court.:illinois:

Not exactly what I expected. This decision may take a while.

It might start moving once he gets back in school and around Coach Smith. Henriksen has said he doesn't have a 'camp' like a lot of kids - basically it's his mother and uncle and Robert Smith -- and Talen has been overwhelmed by the offers and such. Don't think he was expecting to blow up quite like he did.
I think CPS starts this week.

Actually not having a "camp" may be to his advantage.

No Northwestern.. Poor guys.

and like fans everywhere --
"I'm guessing we stopped recruiting him...we gave him some sort of deadline and he wasn't interested. Kudos to the staff for allocating their resources to realistic student-athletes that are sincerely interested in NU. Also, a final 13 is pretty much a joke in my book. Narrow it down to 5-6 and move on".
