I heard Nolley belched in Study Hall yesterday. But he was facing north when he did it. That MUST mean an Illini lean, right?

I am trying to think of a group less well-suited to tackle a task than Loyalty posters trying to divine the meanings of Twitter and Instagram interactions between teens and college students.

depends on the strength of the belch. if the propulsion of the belch was strong enough to force his body backwards and he was facing north, that would indicate a southern lean.

No it was to Illinois fans about Nolley. She was saying don't believe he's coming here.

I mean.. It's a 19-20 year old woman who was obviously romantically interested in Nolley so whatever...

It's because Nolley said the right things at the right time and got what he wanted at the moment.

On to the next one :hand:

I wouldn't say on to the next one just yet, and Landers seems to have general interest in Illinois... we're just going to have to wait and see if it was all a smoke screen or not come Saturday.

That last line was what I think Landers was saying/thinking after his visit. These are 18 year old kids....with more than just basketball on their minds.

Maybe make him work a little harder next time?

Yep, I joined the board to get info on potential recruits and signed recruits, but the hand-wringing based upon tweets and such is pretty entertaining. Like everyone I'd like to see the Illini start pulling in some recruits, but I'm not worried -- mainly because it is a waste of energy. We'll sign some recruit. Might not be all the ones we want initially, but we'll get some. We'll win some games -- more than we have of late. Then next year we'll sign more recruits, and I think the quality of those recruits will go up.

I'll check the board Saturday night to see where Nolley is signing. Hoping it will be with Illinois, but if it isn't I'm not going to be depressed nor will my opinion of Underwood and the direction we're going change.

Just as good, if not better, is the instant conversion of speculation into fact, and with the worst possible interpretation.

Example- Joe Henricksen says this:

Dosunmu has taken his time and been patient in the process. He has now been on official visits to both Wake Forest and USC. Illinois, perceived to be the favorite to land the 6-5 point guard, will welcome Dosunmu the weekend of Oct. 13-15 for an official visit. While Illinois remains the one to beat, there is a feeling Wake Forest is becoming more and more realistic

Not only is "there is a feeling" a pretty watered down, mealy-mouthed attempt at an update...look at what immediately precedes it! Verbatim: Illinois remains the one to beat

That, of course, leads to this:
However, all smoke points to Nolley going to VT, & Ayo is trending toward Wake. I say odds would tell us we are more likely to miss those guys than to land them. That should be worrisome to all of us

Isn't that the truth.

This social media issue along with covert fonts - Â’ Â’ Â’ - have been elevated to the codebreaker agency for further research and interpretation - standby for updates. In the meantime, go Illini.

No idea if anything Landers says or does has any meaning toward anything in general but just thought I'd post the latest.

Also no idea if that previous post negates this one, if there will be final two or if his bracket thing is just a side fun thing he does for whatever reasons. Will let ya'all interpret all this as you may.

Yeah, should I be thrilled or horrified if Illinois and Georgia are the final two? Potential prelude to losing a recruitment to Georgia? :(

I'm more concerned that Illinois isn't in the final two. He has Georgia v. Illinois, VT v. Georgia St. in his bracket. Seeing as how he will be on his Georgia visit, I doubt he will be eliminating Georgia. Hopefully, he does not stick to the current bracket set up. :(

Guess you don't frequent the other Illini forums then. Makes this look like the mensa board

I *think* losing a kid to Georgia is how we ended up with Kendall Gill. My memory is very hazy on that and combes may want to clarify but if I recall some kid ended up at Georgia and we took Kendall as the last guy in that class.
But with my memory I wouldn't bet anything on it.

I don't think we can/should read into this too much.

But if he does in fact intend to stick to his bracket, then we're toast. There is virtually 0% chance that he eliminates Georgia while on his OV to Georgia. Thus, it's going to be Georgia vs. VA Tech.

Who knows.....maybe this is all building up to his video in which he pits UGA against VT, only to have Illinois win. He wouldnt' be the first kid to pull off something like that.

Whatever the case, we'll know by Saturday night. And my guess is VA Tech.
