Why? Also - isn't the visit today/tomorrow? It's not cancelled and it's also not this weekend.

I think posters are using Nolley's current bracket format as their source of information, being as we're matched up against UGA. He has switched the pairings before, don't be shocked if he does it again...

Also, his visit will be over tomorrow morning anyway so that is wholly irrelevant.

Just wanted to chime in and say we need to relax here about our recruiting misses for 2018!

Here is why.

First look at the roster:

You've Got:
TF - combo gurard freshman
DW- combo guard freshman
MS-combo guard freshman
GE-forward/center freshman
MV-forward/center freshman
TL- point guard sophmore
KN- guard/forward sophmore

If you are a top 100 player (especially a guard) and you look at that roster, how confident are you that you will get playing time early in your career? That roster might be tournament team in 2 years? Shoot you might not start until your junior or senior year. So selling playing time is a tough sell to the 2018 recruiting class.

2nd

Underwood is still new. Meaning recruits and there coaches haven't seen him coach in the Big Ten. They have only seen one year at OK ST. We all know that he is good. Whitman knows that he is good. But that level of trust hasn't been established yet. The contract is in front of them but they can't sign the dotted line.

BOOM! Feed my ego.
If it's true that LN has known for two weeks where he's going (per Ryan Evan), I have a hard time believing it's Georgia, and I feel good about it being UI.

If Nolley made his decision two weeks ago, why go through more OVs?
(a) he enjoys the visits
(b) he will choose the last school visited
(c) he's still open-minded
(d) he's building suspense

If you like recruiting drama, then Nolley, Ayo and THT are perfect recruits. Of course, Richmond committed when he was a freshman and look how that turned out. I've always felt that if we get Nolley, we'll get Ayo. Plus, I think the odds have increased that we get THT.

You must not have been around for Cliffmas.

If he's from Georgia, and grew up watching them as his team, why is it hard to see him going there?

This tweet, which was retweeted by Landers, says that his OV is Friday and Saturday. He is taping his announcement video tonight.

So, he is announcing is final 2 at 8am tomorrow. Then visiting Georgia tomorrow, and Saturday morning. Then committing at 8pm Saturday.

I am only following these recruitments recently because its close to signing day, so maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see how anyone can be optimistic here.

Sure he could shuffle his bracket, but then why the bracket to begin with. Shuffling a bracket is no different then trimming a list. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Guys it has been down to ILL and V Tech for a while. Really find it hard to believe that Georgia has made this strong of a push this late. Would absolutely shock me. Just got to let it play out.

Not landing LN really does affect Ayo. The staff needs to lock LN up. :shield:

But if he already knows where he is going... then Georgia vs VTech as his final 2 tomorrow at 8am make the most sense given the circumstances since its all for show anyways.

I hate that I'm trying to get into this kids thought process, but I just can't understand the idea that we still have a shot at this one given the information out there.

Also consider that Mark Fox is a bit on the hot seat down in Athens. UGA needs to dance this year, or he could be in some trouble. So yeah, I don't see UGA winning this one.

Then again, we've seen high-level recruits commit to obvious dead-man-walking coaches like Lorenzo Romar before, so maybe that won't factor in one bit.

If he's really narrowing it down to 2 schools tomorrow, I cannot imagine that UGA won't be one of them. So, if it really is between Illinois and VA Tech, then whoever faces off against UGA in his bracket will apparently be the winner (unless UGA blows his socks off late, in which case recruiting is fluid).

At least there's no arguments about Georgia being in the South.

He's said it's just a fun way of trimming his list. He assigned the teams randomly at the beginning and isn't actually pitting one school against the other as the bracket has laid out. At least that is what he has said. He has shuffled bracket before.

The entire staff wouldn't go down to see Landers if they didn't think that they were in it for him. He said he has known for over 2 weeks now, this can only be a good sign. I think I'd say it's 60% us, 30% VT and 10% chance of it being Georgia.

Unless it was a last chance sales pitch. Would you take a whole sales team to a client you have locked in already? No. That would be a waste of resources.

I have no idea what he'll do. He's a kid, choosing a school, and taking advantage of some great opportunities. I'm just surprised at the optimism here.

Ok, thanks, fair enough. Hopefully, its ILL vs UGA!

So how would you suggest the staff do this?
