We just lost Kaden Archie 6'6" SF from Texas (we offered in May) to TCU. Oh well, we're 0-16 offers now, or something like that. :)

I'd love to see a class next year of Liddell, Okoro, and Whitney

That would be sweet. I think we've got a very good shot to land two of those three. Better if Ayo commits and once they see this team win this season.

After catching up with the thread, I see the old comment that "THT does not want to be overshadowed" coming up. Was that ever really true? If so, that would seem pretty fragile for a major talent.

I would think, given the kind of talent we have seen play together, both in college ball and in the NBA, that he would not really worry about that sort of thing. I hope we can get both he and Ayo locked up.

I just woke up and have to catch up. What's all the excitement? We must have landed Nolley as promised, right? Oh well, back a few pages to catch up now.

I would highly doubt THT is worried about being overshadowed.

The more logical answer is THT and his advisors knew the Fire was Ayos team. He wanted to up his stock, as he was not a top 100 recruit, so he needed to have the ball in his hands more. He went to a team where he could be the focal point and it worked well.

This makes good sense, though there clearly is some drama between the Irvins and THT. Frankly, probably petty sour grapes on the Irvins' part when they tried to downplay THT's strong AAU performance on Twitter.

Anyway, I think the Irvin connection wins us Ayo, but probably won't do us any favors with THT. Was it Piperor Henrickson who just recently wrote how Illinois was on the outside looking in for THT? That kind of info is usually more accurate than any message board "insider".

Ayo is announcing soon. It is looking very orange and blue. That visit was a homer when all we needed was a double.

ILL!!! AYO!

When you say “soon” what is the time table for that? That could be:

Today, Friday, next week lol

Maybe overshadowed isn't the perfect term. But the spotlight was always on Ayo (is that the same thing as overshadowed?)

I think there is concern that if THT plays with Ayo then he will never have the spotlight. Which we all know isn't the way it works at the college level. But since they have lived throught that scenario already it will continue to be at the front of their mind. Like I said I don't think THT, himself, is worried about that at all. I know an influential person in his camp is though, and that person also thinks that they don't mesh well on the court. Which is also ridiculous, there were a lot of fun to watch together.

Anyone go over and stalk the WF board? All they've really got today is saying how Ayo has to go their because the average Rivals rank of their current roster and commits is higher than Illinois' average rivals ranking. And that Manning isn't "involved or on the periphery of an FBI investigation".

Wise words from Ward that are hot enough to warm Wyoming in the winter.
