Yeah I don’t remember the last time two national experts were foggy this close to an announcement.
I feel bad for THT if he genuinely wants to go to Illinois. That would suck to know where you want to go and get your heart set on that and then have a rug pulled out from under you. Just MO, but those that say this isn't a big deal are wrong. There's no way to spin this as anything less than a huge blow.
I guess I let my emotions get the best of me earlier when I said to let Ayo walk if hes gonna dictate the program. This kind of thing probably happens more often than we realize and he did commit first. He was the first to show that Illinois can get the blue chip Chicago recruits. If his family doesn't want him playing with THT then so be it, THT could've committed first.

My first thought is that a lot can happen in the next few hours.
My second thought is that maybe this is the norm in a lot of recruitments. And if that's the case, then I'm suddenly not sure I want to see how the sausage is made after all.
That's the thing that is weird to me. All camps knew this was a possibility, why did it just become a big deal in the last day or 2. It makes no sense to me.
Who knows. Anything is possible.

They are not controlling our roster. Coach U is controlling our roster. If he thinks Ayo is the better fit for his team, then that's his choice. We're talking about one recruit on a roster of 13.
And I doubt anyone, myself included, know the entire story about what happened with THT, Ayo and MIF.

When was the last time someone had their offer pulled the day of their announcement? It tends to make the new decision a little unclear.

I wouldn't take solace in that, unfortunately.
To me, the fogginess is uncertainty as to whether he's going ISU or Xavier. But I think it's probably clear that Illinois is out.
This has been a dramatic turn of events, admittedly. In this case, though, the kid committing elsewhere isn't the one pulling the hat trick. Seems like we pulled the trick on him. And that's what upsets me.
As others have said......if this was the deal, fine. Figure it out BEFORE the visit. Pulling this BS now is bush league.
After the text I just received, not a chance THT is announcing for Illinois. And yes, I would bet my beach house!

One in the hand is worth two in the bush. What if we chose THT over Ayo, but THT chose otherwise? Ayo committed, gotta stick with him.
As much as it stings, I believe we can overcome this. I think situations like this one happen other places, we just don't hear about it. We've never been in a situation to be choosy.

Liddell isn't involved. Miller is with MIF. Liddell is pals with Mark Smith, so I doubt this affects him either way.
Not a big deal. Would be nice to have THT on board, but like I said earlier, if his being on the team creates unrest, then it's a no brainer.
