Sorry to Francis Okoro for spelling his name incorrectly earlier in this thread. It will be fun to watch his developement.*

FIFY
* - provided it's with the Illini, lol

Okoro brings athleticism, along with physique and height, that we haven't been blessed with in a long time. I think we're very fortunate that he isn't polished offensively, because he'd be a plan A type for several elite programs. That we're in his backyard (albeit, new backyard), is a plus. That the kid (and his family) take academics seriously, is a big plus. He's a player that can elevate our program. His table is set up perfectly. Needless to say, this is a key recruitment.

An instate player Illinois may want to take a look at is Geneseo sophomore Isaiah Rivera 6'5 looks like he could have the whole package. Right now I think he projects as a potential high major player and one I think Illinois should be in on

Already in on him. Has been visited at Geneseo at least once already.

Need rim protectors period. We are set at guard and wing for several years. Nichols deserves a chance to play the 3 the last two years.

Definitely agree with the rim protector and it would be nice to see Nichols play his natural position. I think they are one more big from being a good team and back in the NCAA tournament unfortunately good bigs are hard to get Underwood will have his work cut out for him on the recruiting trail. I am sure they will be active in the 5th year market which might be the easiest route to find size immediately ready to play

It would also allow Finke to play his natural position at 4. He gets a lot of criticism but he is now rebounding but is not a shot blocker.

Keeping Tilmon in the class would have made us a no-brainer Tourney team. He was the shot blocker and inside presence this team could have used. Damn you, Conzo... But get Okoro/Liddell and all is forgiven.

Oh yeah, I didn't think about that. You are probably right, Tilmon on this team probably has the Illini at 1 loss, maybe undefeated?

Finke is not even the leading rebounder on the team, Nichols is. Finke is not in the top 25 of the B1G (overall) so far this year.

Forgive the Illini for "losing" Tilmon? He was wavering with Groce. Very influential people in his ear, pushing him elsewhere. Wasn't in the cards. But, yes, we could really use a guy like that.

Okoro/Liddell are huge recruits, no doubt. In the interim, hopefully, we add an inside presence big (Thamba, grad xfer) to this class and Greg E steps up.

Add 5 fouls to every game we've played.

I apparently was in the minority that wanted BU go all in to get Tillmon to recommit but that being said, he's currently only averaging 5.1 RPG which is less than Kipper, Black and Finke and .9 BPG.

Coaching makes a difference. You get someone like Tillman’s raw potential and talent.... shame .... he’s going to waste in martins team

Seems like a Baylor kind of player...that said, I would like more Baylor type of athletes...VT has me worried however, they already got one we were after...
