The staff wants additional '18 guys. They've offered guys like Luis Rodriguez, Tevian Jones, Maurice Calloo (a couple others?) since missing out on targets this fall.

There are currently 5 spots open for '19, so you can take two more players in '18 (which I would guess they'll do) and still add the three targets you mention in '19.

As for the attractiveness to bigs, it depends on the big. This system isn't for back-to-the-basket traditional bigs (think Isaac Haas), but it's great for guys with some face-up game and ability to run the floor.

Really hoping Flo Thamba takes a visit here

I think the pitch is pretty attractive to bigs too. Run and get bunch of dunks or kick out 3s. Be able to dribble/pass/shoot like a guard even if you’re not. (Bigs secretly want to be guards)

Pressure out on defense so you can get said dunks or get a bunch of blocks on the backside cleaning up perimeter defensive mistakes, then run and get a bunch of dunks.

All of this sounds great, but what is the selling point, if we don't dunk a lot? :chief::)

You would think this system is very attractive to bigs that have eyes on the NBA !

I think Foster will be tough to try and get to leave the state. I wonder when Roy will come calling. He has always had luck pulling the top players out of the state of Iowa.

Can you do the same for BPJ, Francis Okoro, EJ Liddell, Khalil Whitney, and Adam Miller? K thanks.

I don't know what more those two could want as far as a situation to walk in to. they would both start as freshman and have a good system in place to showcase their skills as far as their position. Right now, Finke scores in a variety of ways and Leron gets his share of post touches. would be nice to plug those two in in 2019.

+1

We couldn't be set up better for Okoro and Liddell, with regard to playing time. Underwood's scheme should be a big plus too. Hopefully, our offense will start humming sometime soon.

You can see it hum in flashes recently. We just need some consistency. You can tell that once we have a proper set of players, we ought to be able to score consistently in the 90s. We just don't have the familiarity in with the system or the depth on the post just yet, IMO.

Yep and by next year the team will, most notably the guard/decision makers which will make recruits transition that much smoother.

2018 center Flo Thamba tells me he will take an #Illini official visit next week. "They're looking for a big that can come in and bang inside."

"They came in late, but it looks like it's a good school," Thamba said. "I've heard a lot of things about the school. I want to go there and see how everything is set up."

"They're looking for a big that can come in and bang inside. They also like the fact that I can rim-run. I'm an athletic big."

Great. Hopefully the cold doesn't scare him off. Because there's great opportunity here.

I think a lot depends on who we add this year to if Okoro would step right in and start , and Spicy G will be a JR, EJ yeah I think he will be tough to keep from it he is just a beast and improving his all around game

I hope we can go with the Flo on this visit.

We need a big who swats everything away.

Currently we our defense is just running to and flo with marginal results defending the paint.

Mr Thamba could Flourish in our system!

IFlono... could he be the one?

Sorry guys. I know it’s pretty awflo.
