Off topic, but I noticed that oft mentioned Luwane Pipkins averaged 21/4/4 for the 12-19 Umass Minutemen this season as a soph.

Going after Ramey hard would make sense if he knows Lucas is leaving.

Don't be surprised to hear ILLINI mentions on Selection sunday...as in recruits committing, yes plural.

Like Ramey said, it just doesn't make much sense to commit at this time. Wait another 6 weeks and see which opportunities open up. Coaches get fired, players transfer or decommit. Lot's of moving parts coming up.

The only guy I could see committing is Kane because BU tells him they can't hold a spot for him. If he gets Tev Jones to commit this weekend then serious kudos to pulling that off.

Just wondering. I don't have a clue about what goes on during an official visit, especially in early March without basketball or football games. What happens? Light up SFC? Go get a pizza?

Obviously, the recruit will be escorted by current players or will he? Can the recruit shoot some baskets, play a pick-up game with some Illini?

Exactly what happens on an official visit in March?

I love the name Samba Kane.

Kams is usually involved.:thumb:

Ramey is not coming here. His dad is playing the Illini, and the press, to gain exposure for his program and son.

I'm sad that we are falling into this trap.

He is all about gaining exposure in the St. Louis market for his program and Mizzou, so anybody who has a brain, figure out what is going on here.

Kams is a bar that smells like piss and spilled beer that is frequently visited by the students /players

Yeah. Lets take the recruits to a place that smell like piss. Honestly, with the odor of the place, I can't see why anyone would go there.

Because when you are a college student being surrounded by everyone having a great time and almost all the hottest girls tends to be a fun atmosphere. Could you imagine them taking a recruit to Illini inn (RIP).... it’s be a nightmare for recruiting.

Agreed. I never did understand the infatuation with Kam's other than the exterior paint.
Most folks in Kams are already lit and senses may be dull..male visitors will like the female decor. Murphys could be an option.

This. Let’s give up on this notion, folks.

Samba and Jones are on a staggered visit arrangement per previous info available, yet would assume they'll cross paths on-campus at some point, we'll see.

.@AyoDos_11 said he told @TheReal_TJones he's going to try to come see him in Champaign this weekend during his official visit.

"Tev is my guy. I really want him to come. I've been on him every day."

I'm concerned with Tevian Jones. Ramey would be some wild, extra bonus and I wouldn't trade Tevian for Ramey, if I had the chance to make that choice.

A maybe, yet with a previous knee injury keeping him out for a considerable amount of games, he may be Mike Thorne-like.

He graduates in May, did it in three years and redshirted, so he's very bright, immediately eligible and unlike most will have two years of eligibility.
