I found this interesting. Maybe somebody can fill me in. I usually listen to JWerner's podcast of his show. I have only heard the first 30 min and wont be able to listen to the rest till later tonight. Werner wasn't there today, usually they say why. They did not within the little bit I heard. Now he tweeted about a conversation with Billingsley's visit.
Where I am going is - Did he go to practice to cover what he expected to be a commitment? Or just the first practice back from Spring Break?

I would rather see him end up at Oklahoma than Missouri since they are going to win a lot of these recruiting battles anyway. However, they really don't need to do this. They were able to get Perkins and Thompson last year and should have no problem landing the top St. Louis kids in the future. I would think Missouri is more desperate since they were shut out of St. Louis last year.

I noticed this tweet from Coach Reed a few weeks ago:

The NCAA allowing schools to have a 10th assistant makes these moves possible. At least we don't start playing Missouri again until 2026.

I don't see Mizzou going that route however, that is why I say the next few months or so will be interesting. There is some pressure from the St. Louis Alumni at Mizzou however the coaching staff members are not real high on most of the players that some are claiming they missed out on. The only players from the 18 class that was considered a miss was the two that went to Ohio State (Babb and Brown) out of CBC. Mizzou is real big on size which eliminated a lot of the St. Louis prospects.

That weren't high on Perkins or Thompson? Or even Trout?

Speaking of STL, just think if Illinois could have secured a commitment from Jeff Thomas in 2017?

They liked Perkins but not as much as everyone else did. Keep in mind his older brother plays for Mizzou. The other two no. We will see how things pan out.

Hey I’m bringing my son to campus for a visit this week (business school). Why aren’t there any hot columns for him ;)

For those that missed it and fwiw, Brett Behrens (WCIA) on the Werner show today said that without coming right out and saying the words, there were a number of Trinity kids who indicated they will be coming to IL. He was there interviewing I. Williams after his commitment.

Is there any indication of a commitment timeline for Billingsley? Is there a chance that Illinois already has the... silent verbal?

Highly doubtful considering this series of tweets from his dad Sunday night. Haven't seen this mentioned on this board yet, which is curious considering how much stock everyone likes to put in tweets. Not saying we don't get him, but very unlikely that his dad flipped that much in two days to just let him commit. Probably need to pump the brakes on this one.

Well I just looked through his twitter for a minute. CP's tweet about a big package from Chicago was March 25th morning. That day, Billingsley's dad went on a twitter rant from around 3-7 all that could be directed at Illinois. A lot of "resume" tweets and rabbit holes, comic strips and this one particularly

FYI he likes to us "HOLLA AT ME" a lot
Didn't see any Ill retweets. A lot of Michigan, Penn State, Ole Miss retweets. I am done looking at this dude. He obviously does not want his son coming to ILL. Lets hope his son has some defiance in him!

From random stuff being reported on JW Show and various social media/message board stuff, his dad was warmed up to Illinois. Regardless, let's avoid trashing him because of his opinion.

Don't take my message as "trashing him". I am just not going to give anymore time to a guy that doesn't seem receptive to ILL's sale. He asked to be Holla at....I did....I will see if he answers. If not
