For a 300 plus rating...I don't see many with the offers like he has. I could really care less what some of these tankers think. Clearly several D1 good programs like the Big buy from Oak hill.

Don't look at overall minutes during the season, because this is highly influenced by "searching" for answers early in the season. Less than 10 mins is not part of the main rotation. Villanova and the rest of the F4 teams went 7 deep in their close games, including the entire F4.

Fans get enamored every off season with deep rotations and all of the new prospects and projects contributing. Our projected roster now has more projects than verified B1G level talent. There will be deeper rotations early in the season, searching for the "winners" but come B1G season, our rotation will shrink. Unless we continue to "search" which would not be a good sign. Much of the potential success depends on finding the solid 7-8 guys who can compete in the B1G. Our projected roster does not have the B1G talent to go 11 deep.

You're not wrong in your theory of early season playing time can dwindle for some and increase for others. That does average out too though... You're also leaving out that we play a pressure style defense and historically players don't play more than 25-30mpg for Underwood even if they are the best player(s). Trent and Leron average 26 last year and were far and away our best players.

I wonder how much the fact that he is from Oak Hill, which is a recruiting hotbed, plays into the interest level from some schools.

Unfortunately there's just kinda no two ways around the fact that Feliz doesn't have any other offers.

If he's coming I say bienvenidos y buena suerte, but I wouldn't be expecting a cornerstone type contributor.

I know SMU, Loyola, SMU, Dayton are interested. Pretty sure a few offered, cant confirm that at the moment.

Sounds like if Okoro can meet the requirements to reclassify, he will.

I have no idea if this hurts or helps our chances with him. I would imagine his reason for doing so it to shorten his time to the NBA if he thinks he's a one or two and done.

In a way this reminds me of Meyers Leonard. Two years of coaching to get a dozen or fewer good games out of him before he left. Not blaming the kid, that's just how it works.

Question: If reclassifying means taking summer classes to get enough credits to graduate, wouldn't that preclude him from being on campus for the summer? Seems like it would be tough to come in and contribute with all that lost development time.

To me, it seems like we've added a lot more talent than last year. After reading this thread it doesn't seem others think so. Am I wrong?

Okoro could come in the day before our first game and start. No joke

Plenty of minutes available too. Plus the fact that we would have one of, if not the, best backcourt in the Big Ten. Hope we can reel him in. Need to secure a visit quick if he is indeed reclassifying.

Silvio De Sousa graduated high school in December and he played pretty well for Kansas down the the stretch.

Derek Piper mentioned something about Ubben at 10:30 tomorrow morning. Assuming Griffin & Feliz work out?

The only reason am mentioning is that Tevian Jones noted how impressed he was with the IL fan turnout when he was in town.

"“The Illinois fans really surprised me. I had a workout, and the gym was full just to see me work out so that was pretty cool"

Anyone that pretends that they know more than coaches who have spent decades coaching college basketball as assistants or head coaches, is a fool. They all make mistakes, but they know what to look for, more than anyone here, at rivals, at scout, or the multitude of amateur analysts, including our insider aau coaches. There is no reason to think that worm or Piper, or Sturdy has anymore insight than some fans. There are no credentials, except experience. Yes, we have added height, shooting ability, and a lot of other things that Underwood wants. Ayo will be playing in the Jordan Brand classic Sunday, and I don't think any of the guys who left did. Black was great last year, but no one can blame him for moving on.

Not this year, but JCL did.

Ok, I haven't seen him. Heard he was athletic but raw. Afraid I don't like our chances anyway.

I saw him once and thought the same thing. Athletic but, raw. His scoring was mostly dunks against smaller defense. Physically he is the real deal but, to think he is going to come in and dominate similar size is not realistic IMO.

Losing out on Okoro when he's a recruit right down the street and with our desperate need for bigs and have an assistant coach on staff known for developing bigs would be a massive blow to the program.

Still think and hope he stays home.

I don't know about that.....

Hes moved around a lot. Like a lot a lot. And his tape isn't too impressive. Those are probably the two biggest reasons.

Hmmm....how much video have you watched of Griffin. Most of his videos are pretty impressive and your possibly the first I've heard make that claim. Griffin is the steal of the class.

Would love it if we can somehow get Okoro. I too have heard rumors around town that Purdue is making a strong push. Have not heard anything about reclassifying. I have heard a rumor he may forego his Sr year of HS basketball. Don’t know if that had anything to do with mid year graduation...
