I love the misplaced hate for Weber. He was guilty of many things, but misusing Leonard isn't one of them. Leonard was temperamental and like many freshmen, lost most of the time. He was not ready for big minutes. Period.
Just to be clear, I never have hated Coach Weber. He ran a clean program, would have gotten us to the mountaintop in 2005 but for those eastern-accented officials who made dubious foul calls against Augustine and Ingram, and is clearly a good man who is better at X's and O's than at schmoozing NCAA officials or recruits. I am glad for his recent successes, as my prior posts state. I reiterate that I was not impressed with how Leonard was used as a sophomore, and would wager that if you asked Bo Ryan after a couple of beverages he would tell you the same. Tisdale, who certainly tried hard, seemed positioned far away from the rim even in his 4th year.
