Underwood must wear Velcro shoes.
Samba is an international kid that arrived arrived at a high school in Colorado as a HS Sophomore, then transferred to Florida Prep, and then reclassified from '19 to '18. Needless to say, his transcripts were probably tricky.
Has to be Illinois issue. NCAA may prevent him from playing but isnt going to stop anyone from enrolling.

Ayuhp . . . .This is such an Illini thing.
It's the summer; the World Cup is on; my team just won a Stanley Cup and yet I'm stressing about the revolving door of big men at my alma mater.
The more frequently you load the roster with kids who aren't committed to the school, don't have the required skills, don't have a water-tight transcript, don't fit your style of play, etc, then the more frequently you'll have attrition that causes you to scramble and lower your standards the next year.
Josh Whitman is setting up a press conference later today to announce future plans to re-renovate SFC.
I'm still believing in BU, but this falls squarely on him and his staff. We've set ourselves up for this. You have to successfully recruit players that have little to no risk. They have to get it done. Loyola and lots of other schools do.
into a hockey arena.
Between now and when the issue is resolved where does Samba go?
Is this Illinois admissions not accepting classes or an NCAA eligibility issue?
Samba Kane won't be with Illini this summer

It will be interesting if we hear what the hold up is.
If this were NCAA; they would say NCAA.
To be clear, you can't go into any degree of detail about this stuff publicly due to federal FERPA regulations. Kane could personally, but Underwood, Whitman, or other university personnel cannot.
Don't expect to hear any more details.
Man, extra tough break for the “Ebo must have left because Samba was a surefire starter” crowd.
Seriously, anything academically should have been under review long before now. You don't bring the kid to campus then send him home if he doesn't have classes necessary.
