Nick Irvin told Piper that Kahlil loves playing with Ayo and he is visiting to see his old Pal. Huge get. Could put the Illini in top of Big with this years class.:thumb: 5 Star Ayo, 5 Star Whitney.:shield:

Ayo is a very strong recruitment tool for the Illini. Hopefully, they are emphasizing how much he will help anyone coming to the Illini with his court presence and ball distribution skills. I'd like to see him stay at least 3 years but the Illini may only have him for two seasons. On the flip side, if the Illini don't start getting the guys they want with premier players like Ayo and Trent in the fold, there's big problems in orange and blue land.

I agree with this entirely.

We should see recruiting pick ups in 19. If we are playing add the guy in summer with multiple holes on the roster next year, we have major issues. Just is what it is

What is the deal on Jeff Otchere? Is he available? Are we offering him? From the clips he looks like a plus trade for Ebo. Enforcer type!

Nick Irvin told Piper that Kahlil Whitney loves playing with Ayo. KW's mother lives in Chicago, should be a help in landing him. After this years team shocks the world and goes to the Big Dance, recruiting should pick up. Keep the faith.:chief:

Whitney will sign before this year’s team plays a game.

He signed LOI to Stonybrook on 10/17 and has a bunch of offers in 2018. Suspect the grades are the problem but even NC hasn't made an offer. Would love to see him on this team as he looks to be ahead of Kane physically and the pair would be awesome.

Based on the moving around he's done the last couple years, i think qualifying would be a major concern.... We are there with Kane right now. This one seems like a big stretch academics wise..... That said, if he can get in, and soon, YES PLEASE!

Qualifying certainly is a huge concern.

Slam dunk. No offense necessary, at least now. He'd get significant minutes. Antigua and Underwood should be all over him.

I haven't heard any feed back on the Kahlil Whitney unofficial visit this weekend. I started looking at the Internet for information, and while I did not get any feedback on the visit, I am cautiously optimistic he will commit to the Illini. He has nothing but praise for Ayo, referring to him as his "big brother," and how Ayo targeted him for passes while they played together and makes everyone a better player.

Because we're that desperate. Shows how low we have sunk....

No I get were awful and desperate and recruiting anyone over 6'7 that has a pulse. However in this case I dont see how we could even be recruiting him considering he signed a LOI and I dont see a reason to believe hes been let out of that.

If we are getting into the business of flipping signed players, we should hire Conzoo as a special consultant.

Word on the street is, if they are on the MIF, we have first right of refusal. Just wait and see how this starts playing out.

And we will be getting a big soon. Going through the process right now. The admissions office is busy.

Let me tell you something my great grandma used to say, feed the noisiest cattle first, and you will always make the group happy.

If it's true we have a good relationship with MIF --enough to have a pipeline, then I'd be pretty happy.

Can MIF scoop up a 5 Star big real quick?

Unfortunately not, but if we have an inside track for Whitney, Shannon and Miller, that makes filling out the rest of our next two classes incredibly easy.

I'll believe that when I see it of course, but Ayo's relatively low-drama recruitment (as starkly opposed to what happened after we had him in the tent :tsk:) augurs well.

Chin Coleman was an investment. Time to cash in.

The squeekiest wheel comes to mind.

I know this has probably been explained ad nauseum but exactly how do the irvins exert so much control?
