In addition, its worth noting that MJ Rivers is not the Rod Smith "ideal" QB. IW much more fits the mold which is why I think MJ is the one fighting the uphill battle to be the starter next year.

IW is a huge talent and if he can win the job I think it would be a great thing, but MJ has already beaten out two fellow freshmen who are closer to that "ideal", including one handpicked by Rod Smith. I wouldn't count MJ out.

Watching Purdue this weekend and specifically Rondale Moore made me think about what a nightmare it would be to have to guard IW in the slot for 60 minutes. OSU blitzed and played man all night and Purdue got the ball out quick to a playmaker that 4/5 star OSU kids couldn't handle. The quick throws covered up the extreme disadvantage Purdue had in the trenches. I know the plan all along was to get IW in the program as a QB in Rod Smith's offense and he really is an impressive thrower, but fun to think about what it would look like with him in the slot. Hopefully Cumby can come in and fill that role.

Or Beason on both sides of the ball. Our version of Charles Woodson.:illinois::chief:

It is just nice that we are bringing in high level athletes really. There is plenty of spots open for people that can move and shake like this!

What info do you have that we don't? He retweeted Beasons Twitter post about the 19 class being lit on Saturday. I've heard that Texas was trying to get involved but nothing I've seen says he wants to decommit.
I thought your comment was directed towards Childress

Gotcha. I sure hope we get him back. Staff dropped the ball if it's true that he wasnt feeling the love from his position coach. Itll be tough to stop 3 players like Williams, Cumby, and Childress.

Any word on possibly Jason Bargy being at this game? It would be REAL nice to beat Minnesota with him in attendance.

Can't believe a central state player to Minny. Seemed like he was being recruited hard. Would continue to recruit him and a couple of more verbals.

I was told DE Dylan Hall from Cal will be visiting also.
Whitman may have to help recruit this weekend, by assuring the visitors that the current staff will remain intact.

I can't imagine a worse stretch of occurrences as it relates to Shamond Cooper's recruitment. How much of our pitch was "Come learn defense from Lovie Smith and Hardy Nickerson!!" and now that's basically a hollow message...

Austin Clark just had a pretty funny/telling comment in the recruiting office....should be a good night in littyville.
Rumors about similar vibes on other sites, we shall see.
