It's basketball. Not the Thunderdome. The only thing that worries me is killer instinct, we can jab them in the eye with a knife but cant stab their brain until they are dead!

Wow, i never heard that one before.Seemed like that ball they used must have been more rigid or less grippy than normal--those first few minutes everyone seemed to have trouble corralling it, even guys who generally have good handles... confusing ball bounces, confusing ref calls, but we still lacked the fight & quickness to compensate.
Which is why andres is giving you 90+ more rebounds right now.....While Trent’s shooting certainly could’ve been better, this game wasn’t lost on field goal %, it was lost in the rebounding battle.
We haven’t shot well all year, but we kept winning despite that because of rebounds.
Gotta rebound the ball better.
Their misses were so long on the rebounds, out beyond the FT line. Tough breaks there, but the 2nd half we just played terrible ball and the refs compounded our bad play by their terrible calls. Felix gets knocked about 5 feet to his right by one of their bigs on a drive and no call. Wow.While Trent’s shooting certainly could’ve been better, this game wasn’t lost on field goal %, it was lost in the rebounding battle.

as Underwood supposed to adjust? Things were working sans the fouling. Holtman did. A great job but doesn’t no reflect on what Underwood did. Holtman was Stelter as a coach calling a game. Hats off to him.Hats off to Holtmann, he made adjustments at halftime and Underwood did not. Holtmann won this one.
I figured it was just jitters, but it did seem hard for both teams to hold on to the ball for about the first 5minSeemed like that ball they used must have been more rigid or less grippy than normal--those first few minutes everyone seemed to have trouble corralling it, even guys who generally have good handles... confusing ball bounces, confusing ref calls, but we still lacked the fight & quickness to compensate.
Tent is expending a lot of energy on defense. It’s late in the year and he’s probably worn out. Shooters need their legs.
Read the post. I said don't reduce his minutes just give him a mental re-set
I'm not trying to bash trent you just have to look at this season and not past.
Good pickup. I noticed that too. The Wall Street Journal had a story a couple of weeks age about the Nike ball and how 3 point efficiency is down with that ball vs other options. They did a study in the Pac 10 I believe.Seemed like that ball they used must have been more rigid or less grippy than normal--those first few minutes everyone seemed to have trouble corralling it, even guys who generally have good handles... confusing ball bounces, confusing ref calls, but we still lacked the fight & quickness to compensate.
Those are good stats and points out that Trent has been contributing less than we need. But who gets his minutes? If we say Allen, then we are down to two ball handlers and one distributor on the floor. Since Damonte has been shooting it better, I would encourage him to be slightly more aggressive. Trent might need a bit more rest but I don't see a viable alternative. Our depth, other than Allen, is warm bodies with Feliz in starting lineup. In our last 7 loses he has averages 7-2-2 on 22% shooting (14/61) and 21% from three (9/41). Take those stats with a grain of salt cause of his defense but his 10.9 PER and 22% have lost us games no denying that. He's been a great player but isn't no longer so you have to take the new information and use it. During the win streak he averaged 7-3-2 was 9-37 (24%) and 4-20 (20%) from three. Lets not act like he played well during the win streak. Try him as a spark plug off the bench till he gains some confidence back.
We certainly are not overly skilled offensively. We have five guys that can score ( potential to score 10 or more points...Kofi, Ayo, Feliz, Allen, and Trent...Trent and Allen don't do it consistently). We win with defense and outworking teams on the boards. If we give up much more than 60 in BT games, our chances of winning are not great.
When you have one starter that averages 1.7 ppg in conference play, you are behind the 8 ball even before the start of the game.
Hats off to Holtmann, he made adjustments at halftime and Underwood did not. Holtmann won this one.
You are spot on there... Underwood probably just found a corner and did a sodoku.
Probably no coaching adjustments at half.
I wonder who he's talking about???When you have one starter that averages 1.7 ppg in conference play, you are behind the 8 ball even before the start of the game.
That's just a I hate the coach type statement. OSU had to do a lot of adjusting at the half Illini just had to mantainYou are spot on there... Underwood probably just found a corner and did a sodoku.
Probably no coaching adjustments at half.
We are 7 points ahead at the half, let's change everything we are doing. What are you thinking? You are spot on there... Underwood probably just found a corner and did a sodoku.
Probably no coaching adjustments at half.
He was a shooting guard in high school, he’s not a pure point guard.I could be wrong but Trent is not a point guard and that fact will come into play next year, Trent will have a great SR year
He’s an 86% FT shooter though and a good passer. I trust his ability to know when to drive and make the right play if his shot isn’t falling, which it hasn’t been pretty much all season. Please, no. Trent's drives to the basket always end in a missed or blocked "floater". It just isn't good. Love Trent and what he brings to the team, but the step-back long 2s and the drives to the basket should be minimized. I know he is trying to get to the basket as he knows his shot isn't falling, but it's not really working to get him going. Not sure what we need for him. Maybe run him off some screens to get some catch and shoot 3s?
