Looking at numbers, their backcourt of the Smith’s and Pinson carry more than half their scoring. I would think that a combination of Ayo, Curbelo and Frazier will rotate on MS. I think Monte will guard Pinson. I like our lockdown guys to keep them in check. We are a better rebounding team but they are better at steals and turns. They are way better at shooting FTs but last night we were better. Kofi missed 5 and GB just 1. If we can do 20-24 FT makes a game, that takes pressure off the offense. I think Kofi and GB will keep Tilmon from going off then we should be able to handle Mizzou. We are averaging almost 16 turns a game and teams that go deep in march aren‘t ranked 230 in turnovers. We can cut that down to just 11, we will have 8 more points a game and limit the other team 5 points Less on average. Neither teams really go deep into the bench so you will mostly see 7 or 8 from each team during the game. We have the more scoring from our bench than they do. Fouls will be key. It would be nice to get MS in foul trouble early. BTW, they are a terrible 3 point shooting team. They are 146th ranked at 32.9% while we are 47.3 ranked 3rd Just ahead of Baylor. They have only made 25 this year and most of then are between the Smith‘s. 13 of their 25 have been made between those 2. MS makes 52% so we need to get in his grill. Mizzou let’s teams shoot only 22% from three while we are at 29%. Neither is bad but they have shut down more shooters than we have. If we play balanced and pass the ball to the open man, Mizzou will have a tough time against us. We have the intangibles as we will come hungrier and AYO wants a Mizzou win. I think we win 78-65 where we make FT‘s to ice and bump the margin wider

3-0 Mizzou looking to be ranked for the first time this year when the polls come out on Monday. Wondering if tonight will be a trap game for them vs. Liberty. Guess I'll watch and see before making a prediction for Saturday.

Liberty is usually sneaky and I'd root for them against Miznoz under normal circumstance. I want Mizzou to win though, just so UI can hand them their first loss.

Which of the following teams most grates on your sensibilities. A Illinois victory over which team gives you the greatest satisfaction, bordering on elation. :)
Missouri
Duke
Iowa
or Indiana
Historically, I'd go with Indiana as my most hated rival, built solely around my distaste for Knight . This year? Iowa needs to be throat punched. Every single one of them including the coach.
Mizzou after that.

After dropping just shy of a grand on 4 tickets for last years debacle, its Miznoz for me! I hope we beat them so bad that Clownzo makes MS run on a tread mill in their next practice.

Yes my dislike for the Whosiers also goes back decades. But I could certainly elevate Iowa

It was bothering me during the first game last night what cartoon character from my youth this guy reminds me?
:) :)

Genuinely hard to choose, haha. For reference, my first year really remembering the Illini was 2001, and 2001 to 2006 were my formative years as a fan ... yeah, lucky, I know! With that in mind, these are my thoughts on them:

Duke: Meh. I hate the attention they get, and I think they're as annoying as any other red blooded American. However, I will always hate UNC due to 2005, and that dilutes my hatred for Duke, or at least makes it less unique.
Indiana: This was my CLEAR answer until a few years ago. I still hate Indiana and consider them our best "historic rivalry," but they haven't been good for a while, and Gordon/Sampson is becoming a more distant memory.
Iowa: I never hated Iowa until last year, honestly. The Bruce Pearl stuff was before my time, and they have sucked for most of my sports watching life. However, watching them MURDER us twice in 2019 lit a fire, and things were really taken to another level last year. Right now, they are our biggest rival in-conference, and they would actually feel the same about us (unlike Indiana, who likes to pretend Kentucky is their main rival and will always be completely obsessed with whatever Purdue is doing, lol).

Missouri: I think for how infrequently we play them ... I mate hate Mizzou the most. I have literally zero respect for them, and I cannot stand when we lose this game. I can't even imagine how I would feel if I lived near St. Louis. Additionally, my Iowa friends (most of my childhood friends) have really made me realize what a special atmosphere the Braggin' Rights Game is and how much some of our fan base takes it for granted; they are always really jealous of it.

It's insane that this game doesn't have a TV channel home yet.

If it's truly on an SEC Alternate channel, then I believe it will show up as an ESPN streaming option. I'm always streaming everything anyway, so it should be okay. It's still crazy though.

On the CBS affiliate in StL, they said it will be on an ESPN channel...for what that's worth.

Anything on SEC Network can be seen via ESPN APP if you do not have the SEC network on your specific cable provider. Above is DirecTV guide for Saturday, start time is 7pm CST

Looks like if the ESPN app doesn’t work for me then I might have to head to the high seas to get the stream. That is if you catch my drift. My father and I always make it a point to watch this game together.
