This will probably be like this game today but we will win it.

Fr. Zach Edey listed at 7'4''285, plays about 15 minutes per game.
They have another big man, Williams, who's a load. Kofi will have his work cut out for him as they throw these guys at him in succession.

Trevion is tough. I wonder if we'll see more of our big lineup with Kofi and Giorgi together Saturday. Williams is a banger while Edey is just big. Kofi will kill him running the floor.

Purdue plays 3 days before this game at Rutgers. That will be an interesting one for us fans to watch.

Is 7 days off better than 3 days off?

As a high school coach who usually plays Tuesday/Friday I hate our “bye” dates when we get a week off. it’s just too long imo.

With break, Covid, no ability to head home and see their families, I hope they stay focused cause without a game there’s literally nothing for them to do for a week and it could suck.

We always took the long break to work on a brand new inbound play, maybe a new half court defense... I think these guys need a couple days shooting around one thousand free throws after practice when they're tired and I'm not kidding. I would like to see that coach knows when to lighten up and encourage them to have a little fun with it too. Sometimes we look slow and lazy (not today) and sometimes we look tight. I want to see us come out fast and loose - we look like we're playing scared all too often for the talent we have on the team. Something isn't quite right yet mentally. We need to get there soon. One last thing... for now I like Curbelo coming off the bench and providing that spark. I wouldn't screw with the formula and make him a starter. He's getting his minutes and I'd make sure he knows how valuable he's been and will be. A lot of things looked better today; that's all you can really ask for.

While I nearly always agree with our coach's comment above, I'm actually ready for this particular break. We know it's coming at some point in the season anyway, and there's probably no better time than prior to a home game vs. Purdue. I think we'll be fine, particularly if Rutgers beats them up a bit.

Let's leverage the added prep time! (A 20-6 sprint out of the gate would be ideal.)

In the post game pressers, there were multiple mentions of fatigue after a 3 game week. Seems like this break will be a better thing than not.

I hope people do not expect us to win most of our games by 15-20. Teams in the big ten are to good for that and the coaching is elite. Most every game will be a battle.

I swear, fans are like the guy who finally gets a hot girlfriend and are so scared of losing them. Curbelo knows how valued he is. He doesn't need us posting on social media, "START CURBELO" every game. He played ~30min last game. It's very apparent he's the face of our program going forward.

I'm okay with starting Miller still. When our shooters get going early on, it puts us in a good spot. Then you have a guy like Curbelo come in and get us to penetrate the paint.

Bringing in Giorgi, Jacob, and Belo brings in energy and like combo of Jacob to offset decrease in size of Giorgi vs Kofi.

We’ve GOT TO start faster. There’s no reason some of these teams get ahead or hang with us like they do in the first 5 minutes.

I’m not a coach, so I’m only going to comment but others might know better.

When we push the ball on offense to start then we can build the energy. It seems we don’t kick off our offensive scoring until we get on a fast break or get quick passes underneath the hoop.

I'm happy to see we can string, lol, 2 wins in a row, do we have 3 in us? Will be interesting to see someone bigger than Kofi.

If we need to start the game with energy and Curbello is our most energetic player, it seems to me Curbello should be in the starting lineup. At least we should try it one game and see if he provides that much needed opening spark. I think we should try Adam off the bench for now.

What about Verdonk??? Has anyone heard anything about his progress or lack of.....????

Highly doubt he adds anything this year - didn't get enough practice or time to build trust with underwood.
Verdonk - still a Freshman next year, too (thanks to Covid rules). Still think it's 50/50 that he stays in the program.

This, plus look at the b10 games..

In the games he hasnt had foul trouble (the last 2) he had 27 and 30 mins.

The other 2 games he fouled out or had 4 fouls and had 16 and 22 mins..

Basically, it looks like if he isnt fouling a bunch he's getting 28-29 mpg which is plenty
