Probably what most coaches are thinking after every B10 game LOL

Referees issued a technical foul on Ferry in the second half. Afterward, he voiced his concerns about the officiating being “a little uneven or inconsistent.”

“I wasn’t ranting or raving, I wasn’t cursing,” Ferry said after the loss. “I thought there was a little sensitivity on that.”

This is fine worthy? LOL. B10 has no interest in enforcing more consistent and accurate officiating.

That was bs they didn't hit #23 with a T. Was both verbal and physical. No way Hawkins gets one and that wasn't deserving.
WHats even better is that was the kid's first bucket all season..

So you have 2 points on the year, are down 20 and talk trash to an all american who averages 22/6/5 who has already lit your team up for 30 this year? What a clown LOL

What's worse is he was clearly forced to issue some half hearted (at least to my ears) apology in tonight's postgame. How sad that anyone feels that needed to be done if that is all that he said after the last game. Society is way too soft these days.

I think the passing was solid tonight. The second tier needs to come in and take care of the basketball (belo specific). The T/O are frustrating. I really do like using Grandison and Hawkins more. We also did great against the zone and press tonight. That seemed like a huge step forward, which will come in handy in later games. Some good things take carry forward.

And Jess Settles makes me feel like I'm aging gracefully, so I'm willing to live with his iowa homerism.
Haha, I was thinking the same thing! I said to my wife, he makes all the people (and specifically my siblings) his age look like angels. He’s an old guy!

Loved the new lineup, the energy to start, the zone offense, ball movement, defensive pressure, everything........until it all slid into indifference as the lead reached 20 pts. Then focus went out the window and showboating showed up on the boat. You play to win every possession, feel failure and resolve with every blunder, or go home.

I’m rewatching the game. Those first 5 mins were amazing. That was a solid top-8 team. The passing was phenomenal. Kofi’s dish to Miller for three. Miller’s rebound and dish to Frazier for theee. Grandison’s pass down low for a Kofi dunk. Ayo’s dish downlow to Kofi on the out of bounds play. Guys, this team has potential.

Lots of great highlights with this team, but still far too undisciplined and inconsistent energy wise to be a national contender

This team finally showed flashes of a real team offensively last night with how they were passing the ball around. If we can do that consistently (a big ask with how the first half of the season went) then this team can be dangerous. So many games we lost any resemblance of offense and it was just Ayo or Curbelo driving without any real direction or passes into Kofi. I'm excited and hope that we can build on that going forward, hopefully against Nebraska before we play Iowa.

Is it me or has officiating been bad this year? Some of the bad calls this year has been mind-boggling. And it's utterly ridiculous that it takes damn near 10 minutes to make a decision on a altercation where two players were yelling at each other and not one punch was thrown. Give the two players a tech each and give the coaches a warning for their players leaving the bench and move on - geez!

“I liked our energy and our sustainability tonight. Tonight’s game was right up there. The unselfishness and the ability to turn down a good shot to get a great shot,” Underwood said. “I’m excited. When we can have possessions where we don’t over dribble, the ball moves and, more importantly, the players move, that’s fun to see and that is really good basketball.”

Can we keep him three years?
Unless he wants to go the route of the G league, my guess is yes. He is absolutely dominant in the middle but not in a way that is going to grab NBA eyeballs.

I know this sounds crazy, but I actually see more pro potential -- at this early stage -- in Coleman. Tons of length to disrupt inside, a knockdown outside shooter, plays with energy, can make the right pass/read, versatility to play the 4 or the 5...if he can become consistent, put on a bit more bulk, and become a better rebounder, I think the sky's the limit for him.

Man, did we all underestimate Trent's value to this team before the season. I know a lot of posters -- myself included -- wondered if Belo would overtake him in the starting lineup by midseason. I still think it's often overlooked how valuable his steadiness is and his ability to handle the ball against pressure D, not to mention knocking down open 3s.

Is it official that players will have an extra year of eligibility due to covid? If so, I really like what this team can be despite losing Ayo (presuming Kofi returns).

Usually Ayo's name pops up in the post game presser several times right off the bat.....but tonight he was barely mentioned until near the end....hoping that Ayo understands he doesn't have to be the alpha dog every minute...there are so many ways he can help this team win and be successful without scoring 25 every night...he was that tonight....but when the game is on the line....he needs to be the one with the ball in his hands to make a play

This. Fans see a few games where he doesn't have 10+ point and wanna knock down his contributions to this team. He's one of our best players. People just fall too in love with new faces, which leads to ridiculous expectations.

Underwood has seen way more of a sample size for these guys than we ever could. He knows what he's trying to get done. I trust him to make the right decisions. The phenomenal passing we saw last night? That's what we're aiming for.

I think Ayo understands this. He's had a lot of games where he doesn't force things and is happy with his contributions. More than anything, it's always the fans that seem pissed he didn't score 25.
