With this trade, the Rams won't have a first round pick again until 2024 at the earliest. Their first round pick this year went to Jacksonville in the Jalen Ramsey trade. They haven't had a first round pick since they picked Goff #1 overall in 2016.

If nothing else for the Rams, their vertical passing game should be a lot better. And that NFC West will have some quality QB play with Wilson, Kyler, Stafford, and Garoppolo.

I think the 49ers are less satisfied with Garoppolo than the Rams were with Goff. from what I read , look for Jimmy G to be on a different team next season

Bears QB situation is continuously questionable.

Honestly instead of trading for a bigger name I’d try to resign Mitch on a 1 year deal and draft some lineman in the first couple rounds, or throw some money at some legit line free agents (I literally have no idea who is available).

the hope is to have a solid line and then make our move to trade for or draft a qb the next year who would be protected.

I've heard of some thinking that they'll get rid of Leno and Massie and then draft the linemen the first two rounds. Some of the names I've seen mentioned as possibilities at #20 include Teven Jenkins from Oklahoma State and Jalen Mayfield from Michigan.

As far as free agents, PFF's free agent list from a few weeks ago predicted the Bears signing Chiefs C Austin Reiter to a 2 year, $9.5 million deal ($4 million guaranteed, $3 million guaranteed at signing) and (although this one's not an O-linemen obviously) Bengals CB Mackensie Alexander to a 2-year, $6 million ($3 million total guaranteed fully at signing).

I would be fine with that as a Bears fan, but nfw does Mitch's agent let him sign for anything less than 3 years. No team will be able to get a guy like him on a one year deal, even at some crazy number like 15 million .

guys get hurt in that league all the time. why would you put yourself out there with the real chance you cant make any money after the 2021 season due to injury ?.

Is he gonna be in demand enough to leverage like that?

I don’t think Nagy wants anything more to do with Mitch, and vice versa. At this point I think they stick with Foles as the starter, will sign a free agent backup, and draft a qb to develop.

I think a lot of people in the league believe he is possibly a current version of Tannehill - a guy who could possibly be a starter on a team that used and coached him correctly . i’m not a huge Mitch fan - he has his issues - but the Bears did not utilize his strengths and Nagy did him no favors .

I would be shocked if he ever plays another down for the Bears - from his standpoint AND the teams .

I don't see a better option than 2-3 years Mitch, use him right and draft the future QB next year. OL this year. Let's use our TE this year.

I've been seeing the Patriots again for Jimmy G!

I don't think he's happy with Foles either after his poor play and almost choosing him his job this year along with calling him out to media several times. I think they look to have him on the roster as a back up or trade him in a package deal to get a quarterback they think is an upgrade; and sign Mitch to a back up deal, or leave it as is and draft a quarterback in the latter rounds to develop.

It is painful for me to watch Foles. The way that his passes float, scare me, even when they are completed to the right team.

Trubisky is going to be an unrestricted free agent. Absent a promise to be starter or a situation where there literally is no other team willing to sign him, why on earth would Trubisky come back to a Nagy coached team?

The guy has refused to construct a game plan around Trubisky’s talents and then consistently blamed the QB for the team’s offensive shortcomings.

So...the reporting from Houston is that it would take two ones, two twos, and two young defensive starters (Jaylon Johnson and Roquon Smith, anyone?) to get Watson. Would you do that? I wouldn’t. You still need to put a good team around a great quarterback. The team that had Watson last year went 4-12. He isn’t going to win by himself.

Absolutely not. We need those 1s and 2s to draft linemen the next couple years.

We gotta develop the trenches one offense obviously, and then so we don’t suck-suck on defense when hicks can’t play.

I have a feeling that Hicks might be close to the end. He's 31, he has 4.5 sacks over the last two years. He only played 5 games in 2019 due to injury. He had 3.5 sacks this past season, all were in the first three games. He's breaking down and has already played a long time in the league.

Sounds like the Bears are going to be trading for Carson Wentz.

For fun, one of these QBs is Carson Wentz and one of these QBs is Mitch Trubisky. Can you guess which is which without looking it up...

Cmp% - TD% - Int% - Y/A - Rtg - Sk%

QBA: 62.7 - 4.5 - 2.0 - 6.7 - 89.2 - 6.7
QBB: 64.0 - 4.1 - 2.3 - 6.7 - 87.2 - 6.6

Now, explain to me why you'd give up draft picks for the privilege of paying the one that's 28 months older $20MM a year, when you could just re-sign the younger one for Marcus Mariota's contract?

Stats are stats, but Mitch was never playing like a potential MVP at 11-2 before getting injured.

I don't like the trade at all fwiw, but they're not as similar as their stats might indicate.

Really? Agh!!!! I guess Pace really does not value draft picks.

That does not excite me. I don’t know how you could fit his contract under the cap anyway.
