Is it just me or would you rather have the Iowa game.Yeah the last few games save for iowa he was having like a 5 pt first half then like 10-15 2nd.
Then iowa he had like 19 in first and 6 in second.
Is it just me or would you rather have the Iowa game.
Nothing I saw from Trent tonight was impressive...
His defense has been very strong, that was huge tonight to plug the holes due to foul trouble.I couldn't believe coach kept playing him. He was making lots of mistakes and doing nothing on offense. I really don't understand how many miniutes he is getting when not playing well.
I see you didn't actually watch the game. He and GB are the ultimate team players for adjusting to different roles since Ayo and Kofi showed up. They still play their hearts out every game. Trent took over tonight when other things weren't working. No one has under valued Trent hes under valued himself it just goes to show how far expectations have fallen for him when everyone's all googly eyed about him scoring 19 pts when honestly he should be averaging 15+ pts every game even with Ayo because opportunities he just hasn't made his shots .
Nothing I saw from Trent tonight was impressive and its not because I dont think hes good but because its the caliber of play we saw 4 years ago from him and that should be expected of a player of his caliber .
I just completely disagree.
So they mentioned on the broadcast that January 9, 2010 was the last time Illinois won at Indiana. This was the starting line-up for Illinois in that game:
Bill Cole
Mike Davis
Mike Tisdale
D.J. Richardson
Jeffrey Jordan
Dominique Keller, Brandon Paul, and Demetri McCamey came off the bench for the Illini in that game. Tisdale led all scorers in that game with 27 points including 13-14 from the free throw line. Demetri McCamey had 19 points off the bench. Richardson also finished in double figures with 14 points.
Underrated comment lolIllinois vs free throws = Kung Fu Panda vs stairs
I’m sure Bruce was sending a message. Why on earth would Jeffrey Jordan be starting over McCamey?!
I couldn't believe coach kept playing him. He was making lots of mistakes and doing nothing on offense. I really don't understand how many miniutes he is getting when not playing well.
So the technical was for violating COVID protocols. Touchless transactions only. Should have yelled credit card.
There is a huge difference between calling a tight game and this. I would think this is not the type of officiating the league wants. Plus, I see the league looking at the geriatric time keeper's table because this had to be close to a record on how many times the refs had to go get the clock straightened out. I knew from the opening "taunt" that this was going to be a poorly called game. Trent does not have a rep for this. The league does not want an almost three hour game as it really looks bad. Players want to play and not have 54 fouls in 73 possessions. That is insane. No doubt the officiating was bad tonight, but at least the number of fouls called on each team was about the same.
The refs/clock were as close to a rain delay as you can get in basketball. I can't recall enjoying an Illini win less. There is a huge difference between calling a tight game and this. I agree with first part. Grandison was getting beat on the boards consistently in 2nd. He is more of a 3 and I think he played well in OT because DaMonte was out there too to help with some of the dirty work. By themselves at the 4, they are undersized, but together, they are a good pair.Big props to Kofi for catching that ball from Curbelo. Big fella fumbled some of those earlier in the year.
Grandison played well in OT. Not sure why he wasn’t getting in during the second half, especially with Miller out of sorts.
Missed that initially....Saved for future and always meming. Hope they don't take it down when someone realizes what it, um, sounds like BU says.
And one of those two fouls was for yelling "Cash!" at the Hoosier bench.I agree. I think Trent is a victim of how people remember his previous seasons. He is basically shooting as well as he ever has this year, he just doesn’t shoot as much. Tonight he took 11 shots, which I believe now gives him 2 games this year he’s attempted 11 or more shots. I believe he had something like 20 such games his freshman year and about 15 his sophomore year. To me, given what he brings defensively now, this is his best season. Another impressive thing about his game tonight was in this foul fest, he played 43 minutes with only two fouls. That was huge with both Ayo and Curbelo in foul trouble.
No argument here. But if you had said before the game that Indiana would shoot 34 free throws at home, I’m guessing most people including me would have thought IU would end up with 10-15 more FT attempts on the game. Yes it was ugly, yes it made for a less than enjoyable game, yes I hope I never see a game called like that again, but at least the number of fouls called on and FT attempted by each team were basically even. There is a huge difference between calling a tight game and this.
