Turgeon says he contacted the league about both games against Michigan with no resolution. He told them he's not taking it a third game and he "stood his ground" and told Howard "don't talk to me." But more had to be said. Warren's gotta go.
Warren maybe in over his head, but this will not be the straw that breaks the camels back

Great post.

While there is always a chance someone was irresponsible, this is a virus.

We have NO control over it. The fact the media makes it seem like mitigation efforts have more of an effect than they actually do can lead people into a false sense of security and a sense of intellectual superiority over those who do get the virus.

I know A LOT of people, including extended family members, who did EVERYTHING right and still got it.

While I know COVID is more deadly than the flu, I bet every year near the end of February/March there are tons of cases of the flu that simply don’t get reported and I bet it spreads like wildfire through the various NCAA tourney sites.

The difference is COVID can be more deadly, we are testing for it as opposed being desensitized to it (like the flu) and because it’s new/we are way too hyper-aware of it.

If too many schools get it, and delaying it is plausible, I think a good plan is to delay about 2-3 weeks, get all players/coaches/team employees vaccinated, then get back to work.

The J&J vaccine is only one shot and doesn’t require a booster. Then you get your entire field in and only delay a bit.

I guess we shall see what happens.
You think J and J is going to cancel shipments to older people with pre-existing conditions to get the NCAA tourney teams vaccinated?? Which takes weeks after getting the shot

NCAA tournament may have to be a little more flexible if they want to have a tournament this year.

This Howard stuff is interesting. Coaches don't just tattle on their opposition for the hell of it. Turgeon pulling out the 34 years card makes me think there's a lot more to this than just what happened today. The rumor is that Howard had been talking to the Maryland players/bench in the first 2 games and seems to have continued in this one. If he's doing it to Maryland, I'm sure he's doing it to other teams too, and longtime college coaches are like a fraternity. Howard's the new kid and he's stomping all over normal decorum.

Only problem with your plan is that the vaccination is not effective until about 3 weeks after the shot. You would need to delay at least 4 or 5 weeks.

Might be a dumb question but are the tests they’re doing both the quick and full tests each day? Those quick result ones have been spitting out a lot of false negatives in my circle. More than half of the people I know who got it had false negatives on the quick test and the longer test the same day came back positive.
