I am surprised we have not heard any news from Manhattan about Weber. I figured something would have leaked or made public. JW made a great hire in BU after snatching him from OKST. Since Brad is only 57, he could be around for the next 8-10 years.
Retirement. That’s the word.

Maybe BU is from the Tony LaRussa school and stays until he’s in his late 70’s??

Sure could. But I also think our lineup next year could be:

Curbello
Top player not currently on the team ;)
Ace

In this scenario, I think Ty TY is more of a PG than the unmentioned one above, so I think he’s a perfect combo guard to be the 6th man.
Totally agree. I can picture Belo, Ace, NB, Grandy, and Boakye in the lineup. Watch it happen where TyTy is the sixth man of the year next year. He will battle the job out with Belo after his freshman year

Yeah, we've just been through 2 coaches who wasted the past 12 or 13 years because they had no idea of what it took to build a program.
Don't think this would be a good thing for team chemistry. especially if Hutch is back and playing. Maybe one of the two would be good, but whoever it is has got to be a team first, got your back, WE Will Win kind of guy who can shoot the lights out from the arc.
Yeah. I'd say this is a good problem to have. I wouldn't tell a top-30 recruit that he just isn't fitting the system. I love the analysis, but I'd rather have an amazing backup point guard than wish we had one when Belo leaves

Agreed. I just mean TyTy will want to be playing with him and not behind him
Dee:Curbelo
Deron:TyTy
Luther:Miller

I just wish I knew if Burnett was already a commit, just waiting to announce or if we're still in a fight.

If Hutch is healthy, he'll be starting.
Yeah, that is a bit of a hot take. I can definitely see a lot of lineups without Hutch in there starting.

If Damonte and Trent are back, Hutch won't be in there. If Burnett comes, I can definitely see him being a starter. Seems like Belo and Ace will be locks. Obviously, if Trent is back, he is a lock.

Damonte has embraced that bench role this year, so if he comes back, I see him retaining that bench role, but who knows. Damonte is in an odd situation as he was mostly a starter for 3.5 years. Then maybe his last 1.5 years, he'll be a bench guy. (assuming he is back.)

The joys of being a top team are guys like TyTy can come in and not be needed to be a star or starter right away.

IMHO, Boakye would be a backup to Giorgi but would need a lot of hardwork to come close to being a savior, or even a shadow of Kofi. But if he likes to bang and can hit free throws, he would be helpful. He needs some work in the weight room and a lot of positive push from coaches to get better....the speed of B1G play is pretty fast and competent. The perfect fit would be his body with Lieb's skills and DMFW work ethic.

Could be....if his skills and confidence are still intact. Have to wait and see. Categorical predictions are as often wrong as right, but if he can beat out Grandison, the Illini should be fun to watch. Even without Kofi and Ayo, there is enough talent and experience to win more than a few games.
