What better Zoom call could you have with a recruit this week than doing it from Indy, as a #1 seed, being the hottest team in the country? Not much you have to say other than, “ This is what we do. You in”?
God damn it feels good to be saying that about the 🔸🔹!!!!!

One where you can point to two All Americans. That's how you can top that call.

Hard to properly eval kids this year for obvious reasons. BU loves the kid though

I just don't see it. He's clearly very gifted physically. Good frame, good leaper, great speed and quickness. But man the apathy and laziness on the court. I don't see how Underwood can see some of these games and see the constant walking, lack of willingness to rebound and hustle after loose balls, and ole defense and get excited.

I see a high level athlete, extremely quick, but his quickness is often too fast for his dribble forcing him to have to slow down to regather the ball, decent shot, but a little flat and slow release. Looks to be a very good passer with very good court vision.

Underwood must see the physical abilities that can be coached into a great player. Hopefully the lack of hustle is a product of this team that literally runs 0 offense instead of an inherent part of his attitude. I'm sure the staff has seen far more of this kid than I have, but this one leaves me a little puzzled.

Did you see the highlights of Kofi in HS? Kids mature both physically and mentally. And bench time is a big motivator

Yah I did, and had concerns. Although Kofi was surrounded by P5 players and future NBA guys that wouldn't pass him the ball. I think it was as much frustration as laziness. Also Kofi is a physical freak on a worldwide scale.

Like I said Underwood must see something he can mold, but when people ask about his ranking of 217, I can't say i've seen anything that makes me say he should be rated higher.

Given all the guys we are supposedly in on, it seems odd to be going after Bass, but BU is the expert, not me.

Sean Evans mentioned getting Brad on Hot Ones. Can't be overstated how stuff like this helps with recruitment and perception.

"Now comes one of Evans’ most pressing issues: getting Underwood on his show. There have been some cursory conversations between Evans and the university and Underwood sent a message that the hotter the wing, the better. Evans knows that Underwood probably has bigger priorities right now, like, say, winning the conference tournament and leading the team through an NCAA Tournament, but if something worked out, Evans would jump at the opportunity."

I love Hot Ones and would be thrilled to watch that. Evans is a great interviewer.

I watched Kofi play several highschool games and also had concerns. He frequently threw up 4 ft airballs and was very lackadaisical on D.Seemed every guard in the country took the ball right at him without fear. From his first game on as an Illini you could tell that had been changed.College coaching over highschool.

I guess being in on a guy and being likely to land them are two different things... Perhaps the guys you are thinking of want some kind of guarantee of their minutes, and Bass is willing to compete for playing time and grow into a role? You can't promise significant minutes to everyone, no matter how many stars.
That's pretty much how Burnett ended up in the portal.

He talks about Illinois every so often and it makes me happy. I'm a huge Hot Ones fan and would love to watch Brad on it. I'm sure it would quickly become one of my favorite episodes.

(For now, you need to watch Alton Brown, Zoe Kravitz, and Halle Berry. Halle bodied her entire plate. It was beautiful.)
