Have never understood why they don't still play in Huff.Yep. Drew decent crowds then, too. Back when they played in Huff. Place could get loud!

Agree. It's just such a better atmosphere for any sport that is going to have more limited attendance.Have never understood why they don't still play in Huff.
Goodness, we had a stretch of nearly 15 minutes today where we did not make a basket.season over thankfully
Probably thinking about hanging a men's NC banner. That's what I am dreaming about. This is now Wednesday and no announcement yet from JW. Wonder what he's thinking.
She's been there since 2017. If JW does retain her, I would assume it's with the understanding that significant improvement must be shown next year. They are close. Don't be surprised if she is back for another year
Darn wife? (Phone autocorrected to Darn). This is Tuesday, which my wife reminded me of this morning. Damn retirement.
Oh, it ain't so bad. Actually pretty cool that we can lose track of days once in a while. Only problem with retirement it is that you don't get any days off. This is Tuesday, which my wife reminded me of this morning. Damn retirement.
Seems like he would need to make a statement of support if that’s the direction he’s going. I don’t have any idea what kind of recruiting class she has coming in, but there is a real talent gap that has to change if she’s staying. They are close. Don't be surprised if she is back for another year
Maybe part of the 10 year plan. Her best recruiting class. Actually has some fringe Div. 1 talent. Brought in two new assistants from Marquette who show some promise. Still has a long way to go.
Huff's floor is not suitable for basketball. They would have to either put a removable basketball floor on top of a floor specifically designed for volleyball or tear out a fairly expensive volleyball floor to install a basketball floor. Huff is fine for about 2500 fans in the lower seats, but the number of restricted view seats is very high. Hopefully even a moderately successful women's basketball team would draw more than the less than 4000 fan capacity of Huff. Get the athletic department to come up with some money for an Olympic sports facility, and not the expensive hockey facility they continue to discuss and which would be bad for all the other sports that would be forced to play there. It could be built for a fraction of the cost of improvements to Ubben that are about to get underway.Have never understood why they don't still play in Huff.
Thanks for the response and for answering my question. I'm old enough to remember attending Illini men's basketball games at Huff. Fond memories.Huff's floor is not suitable for basketball.
