There is no way they would have gone undefeated though in a power 5 conference. That was made obvious tonight.
I dunno. Baylor really could've been undefeated as well if not for their Covid shutdown. I think Baylor was just hands down the best team in the country.

I am still of the mind Gonzaga has not played anyone close to Baylor’s caliber. Their non-con looks less impressive in hindsight. WVU sputtered down the stretch. Iowa doesn’t play D. Virginia never got it going and flamed out early. Kansas got dropped early. Their conference schedule is a joke year in and year out.

Their road to the championship is a 16, Oklahoma missing key player, Creighton, USC, UCLA (also missing a top 2 player). No seeds better than a 5 during the run. Baylor before their pause was destroying teams and their perimeter D is outstanding. Suggs and Nembhard will not be able to get into the lane at will in this game. If Baylor shoots decently I think they win somewhat comfortably.
Receipts.

Yeah they probably don't lose to Kansas if they don't get interrupted. I'm not sure if they go thru unscathed in their conference tournament but yeah they very well could have.

CBS is horrible with these commercials. They got a great deal off of the NCAA because the NCAA is incompetent.

ESPN did a good job with the women’s game did not destroy the flow.

I understand money is involved but it is so annoying. It was the same way in the Loyola game
Oh, well, I guess we should CBS a little credit for at least squeezing the game in between their stupid commercials.

Does anyone here think Gonzaga will ever win a national championship in men's basketball?
I don't know. I think they may need to get lucky meaning instead having to play North Carolina or Baylor for a title, maybe end up playing someone like Houston tonight. I like the idea of maybe moving to a P5 conference will help. They've kind of run into the same situation the Big 10 has in these title games. Every Big 10 team since MSU in 00 to make the title game ended up playing a blue blood or close to one. I may be wrong someone correct me if I am.

Yeah they can. They are recruiting at an ultra high level. Suggs going in the top 5 of the draft will tell lot of players of that caliber that its just as rewarding to go to Gonzaga, as it is Duke/Kentucky.

Next year they are bringing in #6 Hunter Sallis, and likely will get #1 Chet Holmgren. You take Kentucky level recruiting, and have Mark Few coach it - yeah I'm thinking they will eventually win it. You get to the FF enough times, eventually you win.

I think they can load up non conf and get competition... Their ability to recruit and keep talent for more than a year is huge advantage.

They didn't have anywhere close to the athletes that Baylor had. Baylor dominated both boards and got pretty much any shot they wanted.
I dont know how Kansas beat them. Kansas is not close to Baylor talent...Covid layoff or not.
