Johnny Juzang thinks it might be worth taking a second look.I certainly hope not. No offense to the young man, but he's a definite downgrade from Miller. He shot 34.5% (FG) and 27.8% (3PT). Not sure he's what the Illini want. And he's from Cali, so I'll guess he's planning to head back home to PAC-12 country.
Cal really messed that one up. He looked like the best player in the tournament. He’s also an example of why not to give up on a guy after his freshman year.Johnny Juzang thinks it might be worth taking a second look.
Looked like they were playing Podz' Wisconsin team.Good night!!! This kid is 6'-8", 16 yrs old. He "loves Illinois". In the 1:1,000,000 chance we get him, he would have to be the top get in Illinois history, no?
Back in the day when Street and Smith was the gold standard for college recruiting, Hamilton was number one preseason of his senior year. But his competition was 1A so he was probably overrated.I was thinking Lowell Hamilton was also on some services. Different years.
And DFW to stay and put on 50lbs to play third in the center rotation.
Hard PassWe trash those going off of topic yet praise people who make up stuff and post it on here because it's what we want to hear and makes us feel good. We're a funny bunch.
Hot take: I would rather hear about people's opinions of whether Nick Smith or Maverick Morgan had better careers in the recruiting thread than reading 98% of the insider comments on here that make no sense or is them just throwing stuff against a wall.
Well, wasn't Jereme Richmond the #1 player early in his career?would be our best recruit ever
Richmond was high, but he was in the 20s I think.Well, wasn't Jereme Richmond the #1 player early in his career?
This kid could still be really good and end up being rated in the 30s and then be just another highly rated recruit. This isn't meant to sound negative or anything; I guess it just depends on his development and the others around him.
That's where he faded to, but he was higher (in more ways than one, lol).Richmond was high, but he was in the 20s I think.
Ked is the all time leader in being a Homer. The Homer of all Homers
There’s a difference between threatening to transfer, and putting your name in the transfer portal. There’s a difference between a guy wanting to leave after a coaching change, and a guy who started every game on a top 5 team as a freshman with NO coaching change. I don’t know how you embrace a guy that has shown multiple times he doesn’t really want to play for you.If he reviews his options and decides to come back, we should embrace him. There are more considerations to transfer in college basketball than what is reported publicly. Dee poured his heart out for Illinois and considered leaving Illinois after Self left.

Also a guy who, apparently, had no conversations with coaching staff or teammates before putting his name in the portal. There’s a difference between threatening to transfer, and putting your name in the transfer portal. Richmond was certainly high, one way or anotherRichmond was high, but he was in the 20s I think.
Discriminatory towards people with no limbic system and who are therefore unable to experience shame.Discriminatory towards coal miners. Shame on you.
Impossible when you have people who say something is happening then later act like they were saying something else.
What might've been with Benji WilsonMarcus Liberty was considered the number 1 HS player in the country his Senior year.
As someone who takes calls from recruiters and entertains 3-4 job offers per year but is still with the same employer through it all, I see no reason to fault a player for entering the transfer portal and effectively signaling that he is open to better offers if they exist but when finding out that what he's currently got is the best available being happy to return. Everyone, including NCAA Basketball players, should continuously advocate for themselves. I view this as no different. What's this even mean? Every player out there has their own set of circumstances EJ and Burnett have nothing to do with Miller's and why some people don't want him back.
Frankly I wasn't incredibly high on acquiring Burnett after he moved on one semester in. Is that alright with you?
It's a far more complex conversation than just saying "well all transfers should be lumped in together".
And it's not just about the fact he decided to transfer it's how he just went out the back door surprising everyone around him.
Not sure how you trust somebody again after that.
Top tip: take all recruiting news with a grain of salt (or three).
Fantastic post - 10/10.Discriminatory towards people with no limbic system and who are therefore unable to experience shame.
