I understand. It wasn't meant to be a dig at their rankings, more so the strategy of locking up '22 kids before '21 kids. And is somewhat reminiscent of the old Weber strategy of getting guys super early, in this case before they blow up with offers and get fully evaluated.
Gotta hook 'em when they're bitin'.

Is Simeon mad about THT or is there something else? Sure seems like Chicago is a tough place to maintain good relationships though.

The mizzou noise seem pretty irrelevant to me but what do I know.
Yep still mad. But the homegrown star power isn't as big as past years over there.

You sure it isn’t Brad Stevens taking on a role as video coordinator?
It is funny to me. The Indiana dynasty died when Knight left. I have lived in Indiana for 19 years and the IU fans STILL think they are on par with those teams of yesteryear. Just look at UCLA after Wooden, UNC after Coach Smith, Kentucky, and now Duke. After the coach leaves or in LouDou's and K's situation declining as they age as far as recruiting effectiveness, no replacement coach can do what they did.

I hope when you say “K’s situation” and declining recruiting effectiveness, you are referring to Knight and not Coach K. Duke currently has #4 class in 2021, and previous classes have been 3, 3, and then at least 3 years as number 1 class. I guess technically that is a decline, but one most teams would kill for.

UNC has been to like 6 final fours since Smith. UK has been to like 11 since Rupp. UCLA made the FF this year.

So many of them transfer to a prep school by their sophomore/jr. year. Somebody did an article on this a few years back and the list was very extensive.

And the problem with that, for the "home school" sometimes, is that these guys are already desensitized to being away from friends/family. Now sometimes maybe they see what that's like and don't like it too? Who knows.

Ok, maybe I should have clarified what I define as a dynasty (less about recruiting, more about WINNING or AT LEAST being a Runner Up......... They haven't been in the championship conversation consistently since 2001. Winning twice in 20 years isn't really a dynasty. Not saying K can't coach, but they are no longer dominant or favored. When's the last time you looked at a Duke team and said "that's the best team in the country"? That's what a dynasty is.
Champions - 1991, 1992, 2001, 2010, 2015
Runner Ups - 1964, 1978, 1986, 1990, 1994, 1999

Doug reporting this, but I'm not seeing it anywhere else. Feels like he's reporting it a bit premature... I hope he's not stealing this kid's light
AJ retweeted this, maybe it's legit.

Nobody EVER will replicate what Wooden did at UCLA, but five different coaches that followed him have gotten the Bruins to the Final Four -- Gene Bartow, Larry Brown, Jim Harrick, Ben Howland, Mick Cronin -- which is hella impressive, and suggests that the "program" remains a draw.

With the Yesufu commit, one of the KU 247 guys thinks they're no longer in the TyTy sweepstakes.

Interesting timing, before TyTys decision or am i reading too much into it?
Tyty and Storr play on the same team. This is definitely interesting and could be a positive sign for Tyty. Time will tell.
