Trent has been better than almost anyone for this program in a long whileVery, very happy right now. Trent is that player you WANT to have on your team because he brings it on both sides of the ball AND provides that spark just when you need it. Welcome back TF!!
I would like to see Kofi shed 15 pounds and play one more year before going to the next level.
Here's hoping!Or Tyler.
I'll take Yardbirds with Jeff Beck, Alex, but Beck entered the transfer portal. (Wow! Shapes of Things, Heart Full of Soul). You saw The Yardbirds? Was Beck w Page?
I'm wondering if Underwood is gonna let him jack up some threes once the game is in hand... probably can't do much worse than Curbelo this yearFirst: Hello everyone. Long time no see.
Second: I've wondered if Kofi's best route to The League isn't to drop 15 pounds and increase his mobility and bounce and go all-in on Defense and Dunk as his game.
Interestingly, I felt all season long that our coaching staff did indeed convert Kofi to a "Defense and Dunk" player as a sophomore....and it was very effective for us. However, I've always been wondering if that was the right move for him and us in the long haul. I attended the first his first game ever at SFC in the early winter of 2019. His first bucket was a 15 footer from the corner of the free throw line. It was a gorgeous looking jump shot.First: Hello everyone. Long time no see.

If Hamlin is gone and Kof stays, are we all in on Tre Mitchell?Miller is gone. Kofi will be back after declaring. Hamlin and possibly Verdonk are gone.
I think you're right. Add DaMonte as the 9th if he chooses to return. And with a really big roster potentially, that leaves these guys on the bench once the Big Ten season starts:Rotation really difficult to predict. Would guess Kofi, Belo, Trent, Hutch, Jake, Payne, Hawk, and Plummer. If Freshmen can break into that rotation we will be better than last year but it assumes Kofi stays. Big difference without him. Also assumes no DaMonte or Miller.
Mitchell isn't happening, unless he drops his big ask. That might happen, but, if it does, it'll be down the road, most likely. We're in on Joel Ntambwe. I don't think we're gonna slow play him. No idea if we've reached out to E. Miller. If Hamlin is gone and Kof stays, are we all in on Tre Mitchell?
Ntambwe about same size as BBV. What plus does he give us?Mitchell isn't happening, unless he drops his big ask. That might happen, but, if it does, it'll be down the road, most likely. We're in on Joel Ntambwe. I don't think we're gonna slow play him. No idea if we've reached out to E. Miller.
Others can answer this a lot better than me, but I've heard he can really shoot. Plus athlete too.Ntambwe about same size as BBV. What plus does he give us?
On transfers ..if a scholarship guy has been healthy for 2 years and hasn't contributed consistently I would prefer he be in portal. I think Hamlin fits that criteriaSo we stopped recruiting tyty because we didn’t like his attitude? Just trying to clarify… also, do you guys want players like Hamlin or bbv to transfer so that we can make room for possible players like Mitchell?
If "step father" doesn't land a High Major coaching job, I would venture to say Tre is a 65-70% Illini lean.Mitchell isn't happening, unless he drops his big ask. That might happen, but, if it does, it'll be down the road, most likely. We're in on Joel Ntambwe. I don't think we're gonna slow play him. No idea if we've reached out to E. Miller.
He's a mystery at this point. Had the great shooting game in the very first exhibition he was in and then the *long* absence. He's got great build and decent height to be an impactful '4'. However, in the *very* limited minutes he's been in the last 2 years, he's looks awfully slow and awkward in trying to play defense. I'm not sure his muscle build is translating to agility. But - who really knows? I think, given the current roster needs, he fits a potentially useful slot. And has several more years of development if he wants it. I'd assume he's behind Hawkins at this point and we're likely to add another 4, so he'd be even further down the line and likely little playing time. If he works hard on his movement and agility and it turns out he really is a great shooter, we might all be very surprised down the line with his contributions.I really like what I’ve seen from BBV in (obviously) very limited time. I could see him being very good as an upperclassman.
Not sure if Hamlin has a future but would think the coaches know by now. However, don’t think you can make a blanket statement on a guy taken as a development project and played behind an all American and a guy described as the best backup center in the BIG.On transfers ..if a scholarship guy has been healthy for 2 years and hasn't contributed consistently I would prefer he be in portal. I think Hamlin fits that criteria
So a few people have suggested this.First: Hello everyone. Long time no see.

I remember that shot too! I think he's maybe only made one or two others from the elbow since that first shot. He does have a nice form and showing that skill would certainly improve his prospects. I think with some more wing size and a player to be named later at the 4, Kofi might get more opportunities to show that range and also potentially go high low to hit cutters into the space that frees up when he moves up the lane.Interestingly, I felt all season long that our coaching staff did indeed convert Kofi to a "Defense and Dunk" player as a sophomore....and it was very effective for us. I know he has that "next step" in him on the offensive side.
