People seem to forget Webber took over a floundering Southern Illinois program and took them to the tournament repeatedly with a sweet sixteen appearance. He is a good coach. Is he the best coach no, but they all make mistakes.
I agree with that statement... Weber is probably best suited to lead a mid major program and really be successful, JMO

i remember Webber calling a timeout in a championship game... but what's that got to do with the coaching carousel?

Unless they're offering to groom him to take over for Calipari, I don't see why we couldn't match whatever UK would offer OA. I trust Josh and BU to accurately assess OA's value to our program. Recruiting is humming along and we are in a great spot going into next season.

I think if they offer him 1mil+ per year it would put us in a tough spot. Kentucky will do anything for their basketball program.

If all is true and Tre Mitchell needs a landing spot with Asst. Coach in trail, do we jump on board?

Would hate to lose either, but both will be a tough pill to swallow. Especially for Gentry with him just joining the staff last year and it seems by all accounts he has a lot of say in what happens offensively, if not all.

No way. Tre Mitchell might be good, but he's not "hobble your coaching staff" good.

Plus, I doubt BU would be interested in allowing a new player to call the shots like that. Really bad for team chemistry.

Yep, it sure sounds like it's a done deal. And there are also rumors out there that Gentry to Arizona could happen.
Antigua going back to KU I could maybe believe, but why the hell would Gentry consider going to Arizona when they don't even have a coach right now.

He's been an asst. coach under Underwood for what, like 5 out of the last 7 years (excluding his stint at his alma mater Gonzaga)? Seems like they must have a rock-solid relationship. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if in the far future, he got named coach in waiting or something if we continue to have prolonged success under BU and he stays on staff.

Arizona hired Tommy Lloyd away from Gonzaga. He's got a good relationship with Gentry. There's always a chance Gentry would like to work with Lloyd--there are rumors out there about it. But I'm more hopeful that Gentry stays than Antigua, who seems as good as gone.
