Kentucky loss was due to an assistant moving on.

Big Tim is claiming BU lied to Miller and that we would be more of a ball handler.

"Starting is not the point buddy. He was told he was not going to be put into a corner to catch and shoot. Terrible reading comprehension."
That is where his play put him, not the coach.

Anyone know what this "lie" is that we keep hearing? I mean, what the heck did this kid NOT get? He started as freshman........ummm what else did we say?
His minutes were going to go down this year. Monte and Trent back and hutch and curbello. I don’t know what he was told but nothing is guaranteed

If it’s LSU, that is at best a lateral move and most likely a step back. Their offense looks like unstructured AAU ball. He wouldn’t develop at all there.

Kentucky I at least understand given Cal’s connections to the NBA. But LSU would be a head scratcher.

Millers minutes weren’t going to go down here. Ayo played 35 minutes a game last year. Those minutes have to be replaced. Miller and Curbelo were both in line to take up more of those.

Miller was going to be at worst our 3rd best player next year. He’s certainly not going to play less as a sophomore than his first year when Ayo/Kofi were on the team.

He got the tiger tattoo, his options are limited.

If Adam Miller is UK’s starting point guard in November, here’s my message for big blue nation:

Miller is a good player, but his PG skills are on par with Jalen Coleman Lands and DJ Richardson. And Belo would pick his pocket 7 times outta 10.

Miller's minutes would likely be up. I agree.
and I am/was a Miller fan... but to say that he would be our 3rd best player AT WORST, is at best, uncertain.
Curbello (1) for sure.
Kofi (for sure) / Omar (potentially)
Trent (likely more integral),
Damonte (prob not better, but maybe),
Grandy might be better than AM,
Hutch might be better than AM,
and Plummer might be,
Goode maybe,
RJ maybe...

Fact is, Miller's game has cracks, at this stage. (namely ballhandling and creating/slashing).

He could be the 3rd best player on this team... but now way was he a lock at 3rd.

AM could be great, but if rumors are true that he is leaving because he was lied to about his opportunity to create then he never will be. He did not have an offensive year to warrant high usage but i rationalized this thinking he hyper focused on defense which he did improve. But if he watched the tapes of him going to the rim, albeit numerous uncalled fouls when he did, he had to realize it wasn't a strength this year. I feel Ayo is great because he recognized flaws and improved. If these rumors are true it seems AM is burying his head in the sand and blaming others for his faults. This goes up there with JCL in my book, why leave a system that seems geared for you moving forward? Hope he is working his tail off because he will never see a leash as long as the one BU gave. Wish him nothing but the best as long as it doesn't conflict with our success

Saw on Twitter that Kentucky still thinks they might get him, but I guess that depends on the asst situation.
Miller had competion at guard namely Andre Curbelo. Andre plays with moxie, comes off the bench and lights a fire under the Illini five on the floor. Not so for Miller... not saying Miller could not do this, but he did not. Thus Curbelo is the Big Ten Sixth Man of the year and tough one for Miller to take.

I guess. But Miller started every game, played great defense, showed good hustle, was a reliable 3 pt shooter. I just can’t get past all that and reconcile it in my mind that he left because he wasn’t going to be “the man” and a fellow freshman won an award.

it is what it is but makes no sense to me.

He was probably the 4th best PG option for us last year...whatever he was told he should look at the tape and realize he's not close to a PG..all that being said best of luck to him

I'm of a similar opinion, but there was a lot of talk about how good he was on defense. I wonder if he didn't want to be like Trent, thought of as a defensive specialist and not a first option scorer. I disagree with that mentality, but I can understand not wanting to be pigeon-holed.

Adult me says you go out and work harder for it, but older teen me would jump at the first chance to get out of it. I don't like it, but I can't blame him.
