My understanding is that players can use the Covid extra year of eligibility wherever they want, however, if they transfer to a new school they would count against that team's number of scholarships. If players spend the extra covid year at their existing school they would not eat up a scholarship.I thought the extra covid year could only be used at the current school. Does that apply to Mark Smith?
I do remember hearing that there might be a limit on the number of players that can exercise this option at each school. For example, Wisconsin had something like 7 seniors last year and therefore could only bring two back without eating into their scholarships, but I'm not sure if that is accurate or not.
