I thought the extra covid year could only be used at the current school. Does that apply to Mark Smith?
My understanding is that players can use the Covid extra year of eligibility wherever they want, however, if they transfer to a new school they would count against that team's number of scholarships. If players spend the extra covid year at their existing school they would not eat up a scholarship.

I do remember hearing that there might be a limit on the number of players that can exercise this option at each school. For example, Wisconsin had something like 7 seniors last year and therefore could only bring two back without eating into their scholarships, but I'm not sure if that is accurate or not.

This year did not count toward eligibility for anyone, so Mark can play a 5th year. (Same with Alfonso Plummer for us) Players who transfer for their 5th year take up a scholarship at their new school. Guys like Trent and Demonte don't count toward our allotted scholarships.
Thanks. I was asking for a friend.

So Weber wasted a scholarship on Mark Smith.

My dream scenario is for KU to have taken our two AC’s, get TyTy, and then lose to us in the S16, E8...as long as we keep our recruits, I like how things are going.

As for AC’s, I’m a bit leery of hiring one for one specific task, like an Irvin for one part of the CPL, or what’s his name for Tre Mitchell. It’s what Alton Brown, for anyone who may know him, used to say about tools in the kitchen...never have a unitasker...they take up space better used for tools that do a variety of jobs.

I think Frazier is a step in the right direction..

If it had been KU. Can you imagine?

My friend was confused because so many rules apply. Smith can use his extra covid year anywhere he wants. As a transfer, he counts toward K-State's scholsrship limit.

The other issue Is he already transferred once and got a waiver. Apparently, he is using the graduate student transfer waiver. My friend thought there was a limit of one waiver.

If Storr has a relationship with Coleman, he may opt to follow him. He's had no opportunity to develop any feeling for Illinois yet, and Kentucky basketball is not exactly a downgrade.

If Chin works Storr to get him to Kentucky, it's unethical. But what if Storr just wants to go?

I have similar fears regarding Curbelo and Antigua. From what I understand, Antigua has known him since he was a kid. I fear the transfer portal.
You heard LvilleIllini. OA and Chin are telling them sincerely to stay at UI. If he really has the said relationship, he won't follow him

My thoughts on this whole darn situation have been uno-reverse carded: Who's Chin?
New coaching staff will change the Casey situation. Casey's Dad didn't like Chin. A lot of Chicago people are not fond of MIF connections and Chin was perceived as an MIF ally.

The Orlando Magic perhaps
Careful with this. I am sure Illini AD Whitman and KU AD Barnhart have Zoomed on coaches raiding players. In parallel, I wonder how Iowa Coach McCaf is feeling/thinking about CJ Frederick's going to KU?

Are we talking about UK or Kansas which is KU?

I'll bet sacraig has done it in 23 hours. It's only 24 hours if you drive the speed limit. Maybe 23.5 hours if there's traffic somewhere. You can do it in 23 hours driving at most 5 miles over the speed limit. It's shorter if you live in the northern part of Chandler. I don't know if sacraig had a girlfriend in the suburbs of Lexington. :ROFLMAO:

Can a recruit request a release because of an assistant leaving? Isn’t it usually focused on head coaches?
