So a guy that has 2 years coaching in the NBA and no experience recruiting should be considered for an assistant coaches position at Illinois just because he's an alum? Let him learn on someone else's staff. People are bitching that Underwood isn't going to get good coaches and others are wanting him to hire inexperienced guys just because they played for the Illini. Underwood needs to hire someone that can bring in the recruits, coach big men, and get the fans off the ledge.
Mike LaTulip would be a good choice along with a strong proven recruiter and the ability to coach the bigs.

I think MLT could really be a great coach someday and would love to see his start with us.
He would make a great pick for many of our non coach roles...recruiting coord, video coord, scout coord, basketball ops...pick one.

Like I said, no knock on the guy whatsoever. Time flies. I remember watching our Runnin Reds take out the Railsplitters in the sectionals when Cook was a Junior in H.S. I wasn't aware he is that connected but if you say he is im buying.
