I was under the impression that staffers can't be on the floor during practice or did that rule change? This. If he could coach bigs (assist in practice), from a non AC role, that seems like a no-brainer.

So a guy that has 2 years coaching in the NBA and no experience recruiting should be considered for an assistant coaches position at Illinois just because he's an alum? Let him learn on someone else's staff. People are bitching that Underwood isn't going to get good coaches and others are wanting him to hire inexperienced guys just because they played for the Illini. Underwood needs to hire someone that can bring in the recruits, coach big men, and get the fans off the ledge. You don’t have any idea what you’re talking about concerning Brian Randle! Stay in your lane and stick with what you may know but your factless, uninformed pronouncement is just a misguided and possibly prejudicial opinion!
Jesus *face palm*Mike LaTulip would be a good choice along with a strong proven recruiter and the ability to coach the bigs.
You serious Clark? LOLMike LaTulip would be a good choice along with a strong proven recruiter and the ability to coach the bigs.

Does CalTech have a BB team? LOLCalifornia University of Pennsylvania, the darkhorse
I think MLT could really be a great coach someday and would love to see his start with us.Mike LaTulip would be a good choice along with a strong proven recruiter and the ability to coach the bigs.

At least a coach from there would be like super smart
Sometimes I just sit back and dream about a coaching staff made up entirely of Illini guys: Dee as our HC, Howard, Williams, and Augustine.Mike LaTulip would be a good choice along with a strong proven recruiter and the ability to coach the bigs.
Tomorrow or TuesdayNot to rain on the speculation parade, but "in place and signed" implies its a matter of public record, no?
That is exactly what I was thinking.I think MLT could really be a great coach someday and would love to see his start with us.
He would make a great pick for many of our non coach roles...recruiting coord, video coord, scout coord, basketball ops...pick one.

And I think to myself man, we would totally suck.
I'll be d**ned, I thought I came up with a good joke, but no...They do and I think they had the longest losing streak record until recently.
Men's Basketball Snaps Losing Streak
With a game-winning basket at the buzzer, the Caltech men's basketball team snapped a 55-game, four-year SCIAC losing streak with a 49-47 victory over the University of Redlands on February 3.www.caltech.edu
They also recently got completely clowned by the NCAA, who have nothing better to do.
Has Caltech finally found a formula for success?
After decades of losing, Caltech and its coach, Oliver Eslinger, believe they can begin a winning tradition.www.si.com

You can say what you want about him, but no one could fornicate around corners like Dick Bender. Please let it be Dick Bender...
You know the assistant to the head coach isn’t a GA position right? And Geoff has 15 years of recruiting experience.Went back 3 pages and didn't see a reference. Who is Alexander? I know the GA from Lincoln is an Alexander but they aren't promoting him are they? Not saying anything bad about the guy but he definitely is not a national recruiter.
Like I said, no knock on the guy whatsoever. Time flies. I remember watching our Runnin Reds take out the Railsplitters in the sectionals when Cook was a Junior in H.S. I wasn't aware he is that connected but if you say he is im buying. You know the assistant to the head coach isn’t a GA position right? And Geoff has 15 years of recruiting experience.
