Actually,100% of them decide to stay in their updated house. The show is scripted and the choice at the end is completely fake. Also, I can't think of any correlation to Illini basketball, but I am open to suggestion.

Irrelevant fact. Hillary Farr on Love It or List It is in her mid sixties. Who'd a thunk it.

First off, my apologies for the earlier snark. Turns out, indeed, much solid.

So currently in a Will Bailey rabbit hole. If all of this has been said... nothing wrong with a refresher, right? 😬

Bailey is from Chicago (check).
On the Huggins/Martin/Underwood coaching tree (solid plus).
Familiar with Champaign, as he was inducted into The Parkland College Hall of Fame in 2019 (interesting nugget that strikes a certain would-want-to-be-here tone).

Down the rabbit hole with you. Bailey looks good, nice resume, checks all the boxes. All's fair in love and assistant college basketball coach hiring, but how will this impact Martin and Underwood's friendship if he poaches one of Martin's assistants?

Bailey doesn’t do it for me and it doesn’t sound like he has history coaching bigs. Seems like he would be redundant to Chester in my opinion.

Alexander has a history coaching bigs. Chester's ties are largely on the east coast, particularly in the DC area. Bailey's sort of been all over but has midwest and Chicago ties. Think you're simplifying a little bit.

Storr said the change in staff made him look into his options again and that he's willing to get to know the new guys before making a final decision. Personally, I think having the really strong spring he's coming off of had just as much, if not more, to do with it. The really solid high major offers are coming in for him.

Can someone show him the way out so we can get this process moving...........
My guess is that there is probably an understanding in place that a public announcement on Gentry doesn't occur until the hire for the other AC position is announced.

No offense but why? If the Zags hire him, wouldn’t it be on their terms not ours?

Or he and his agent are taking their sweet time ironing out all the details of the contract.

Could be a courtesy thing given that they have some down time between now and in-person recruiting ramping up. But I'm assuming it has more to do with ironing out contract details.

So you are agreeing that the vacancies are playing a role (the "new guys" you reference don't all exist yet). I stand by my statement that mystery erodes relationships. The longer the search goes, the tougher it will be to keep or develop relationships.

Is Illinois not a really solid high major now? Christ, this fan base truly needs to follow Illinois State instead of the Illini. Much more fitting.

I mean, not having guys in place isn't *helping*, but I think this was always going to be the case once Chin and OA decided to leave.
