It would seem each day that passes without filling the voids at AC hurts the program. It doesn't devastate it, but relationships suffer. Mystery and uncertainty are killers.

As multiple posts point out, we have Underwood. That provides stability, but the Storr loss seems big and hopefully is our only loss.

New connections of future AC hires are exciting, but the wildcards of "fit", "style" and whether they even have considered the Illini before are hurdles. And if we chase hires from lower profile programs would the recruits be of similar stature?

Lots of questions. Many more come to mind. It's time to lock someone in soon.

I'm sure that someone from the staff is reaching out to the players and commits to give them some idea what is going on. Storrs may have committed to Illinois because he didn't think he would have a better offer. Keeping him committed for a year may not have happened anyway.

I don’t think you know. (Can’t say that I do). That speculation is just silly. 🙃
The forums would be awfully lonely without silly speculation. This coaching search has become tedious. Can we bring back some panic and fear? Let's spice it up a bit again.

What are the options now? Assuming Alexander slots into Gentry's role, we need a final assistant. Legitimate question: Has Brad and Josh considered and/or contacted Brian Randle? He is coaching in the NBA (Phoenix Suns). That is assuming he'd be open to coaching in college. Not just any college, his Alma Mater.
I have to admire your persistence with this.

BU might not want to poach one ex-assistant coach (Pastrana) away from another ex-assistant coach (Boynton). They were both on his staff at SFA (Gentry was his 3rd assistant coach there.) Boynton followed BU to OSU and Pastrana went there after BU left.

I do think Pastrana would be a great AC here if it could be worked out.
Refer to my previous post…,,

There’s a show on HGTV called “Love It or Leave It.” The concept is that one of the hosts, e designer, works on the house a family lives in, trying to satisfy the one who wants to move. The other host, a real estate guy, tries to find a house to get them to move.

When they show the reveal of the upgraded house. At least 8, if not 9, times out of 10, even the one who was initially dissatisfied chooses to stay. When things are made more attractive where you are, most people stay.

If you don’t like this metaphor, then redo your beach house and see if you’ll still bet it.

Actually,100% of them decide to stay in their updated house. The show is scripted and the choice at the end is completely fake. Also, I can't think of any correlation to Illini basketball, but I am open to suggestion.

Brian Randle IS NOT COMING to Illinois right now. The next kid he recruits will be his 1ST..........they need a proven, high quality college basketball coach with recruiting chops. Let's stop with this.
Yeah, I’m not sure why you’re quoting my post here and would recommend you Google sarcasm. I didn’t say anything about Brian Randle being an AC and was simply commenting on that fact that I think I read 2 pages of this thread and saw at least 3 posts from him about the topic, like if he keeps posting it will happen. Relax.

Wrong: It's really: 60% stay/40% list.
