Like the idea that both would be making the same, less chance for a perceived slight.
CY would certainly make more in my opinion. Even if it’s just by 75-100k. His resume and track record compared to Chester make that seem like a reasonable thing to happen. And I don’t think Chester would be offended.

As far as I'm concerned Chester has a better resume than Chin does now!!!!
Except Chester doesn't have the Chicago connections and especially the Mac Irvin Fire connections. That is why Chin was hired in it worked out great for us

Those kind of connections eventually age out. The upcoming MIF kids will be less and less beholden to Chin as time goes by.

It will be interesting to see what happen with UK in the next few years if the one and done model collapses with the G League. The UK fans have so brutal expectations.
Just like Patriots fans! They'll adjust! 😆

Hey... we're acting like a top 10 program! That's what we are! 😉😏
It may be that we're in on the beginning of a market correction, with a general increase in AC salaries. It may also be that we're having to pay above market to get good candidates to consider UI. Strange things are happening, given the recent resurgence of our program. It's been reported that Gentry'g gone, which would be all three ACs. It's been reported that Antigua took less than we offered to move to Kentucky. It's been reported that a number of candidates passed on the job, despite our DIA's apparent generosity. With our recent success and an AD throwing around money like a drunken sailor, it should be easy to retain and hire people. But we've retained no one, and hiring is proving a lot harder than one would expect.

If this happens the blue bloods will be all over the 4 stars leaving even fewer top players for everyone else.
There's plenty of 4 stars to go around! They'd be chasing the fringe 5 stars. And at the point like most, there's the development aspect. Where the coaches earn their pay checks. Playing field should even out more in my opinion. Similar to this year. Wasn't many clear cut better teams that distanced themselves other than Gonzaga and Baylor! Fichigan was a use covid to hide so I don't have to play the best teams in the conference squad! So blah to them.

Got this off of CY coaching page:

Young was named the No. 1 high major Division I minority assistant coach in college basketball by the Minority Coaches Association.

In his first seven seasons at Florida State, Young has played a major role in helping the Seminoles win 165 games (an average of 23.6 games a season), 75 ACC games (an average of 10.7 conference wins per season) and play in five postseason tournaments including the 2017, 2018 and 2019 NCAA Tournaments.

In 2020, Young helped lead Florida State to the ACC Championship, a 26-5 overall record and a school-record 16 wins in ACC play. The Seminoles finished the season ranked No. 4 in the final Associated Press poll – the highest final national ranking in school history. Two of his star recruits – Patrick Williams (No. 4 by the Chicago Bulls) and Devin Vassell (No. 11 by the San Antonio Spurs) – became the first pair of players picked in the NBA Draft Lottery in school history. A third Seminole, became a member of the Utah Jazz – on draft night to begin his NBA career.

In 2019, he helped Florida State to a school-record 29 overall wins, 13 ACC wins, six wins over nationally ranked teams, the third appearance in school history in the ACC Tournament championship game and to a second consecutive appearance in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Coupled with the Seminoles’ appearance in the Elite Eight of the 2018 NCAA Tournament, the 2019 season marked only the second time in school history that Florida State had advanced to at least the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in consecutive seasons.

I didn’t think it was as much as the kids were beholden to Chin but rather kids are beholden to MIF leadership, who have strong relationship with Chin. As long as that relationship is strong, MIF will keep directing kids to school Chin is at. That school now being Kentucky and its obvious pull means gonna be tough to get in the way of top MIF players choosing KY.

Thanks for the info! Do you mind sharing where that's being reported, or the link? I was unaware that was the case. That does sound weird considering what our school has been and currently is...

I'm kinda surprised it's taken Brad this long to announce the next assistant. Wonder what is taking so long?
