Much like Coach K coached the US part-time, I'd suspect so.So, are you under the impression that it's a part time gig?

If BU chooses to go that route, there is one guy that immediately comes to my mind who already interviewed for a college job this spring and is very tied in on the East Coast...
Wasn't the interview for the Head Coaching job at Texas (his alma mater)?Royal Ivey

He's only using the Illini so he can get a pay increase. /sWikipedia says that on May 3rd he became the HC of the South Sudan National Team?
I think there are a couple 7’ tall kids from South Sudan playing for the Brad Beal Elite 2024 team. Would be nice if he could develop a BBE pipeline as they’re the premier program in St LouisWikipedia says that on May 3rd he became the HC of the South Sudan National Team?
I mean if his goal is to be HC at Texas they may have given him feedback that he needed to know the college game better before taking over a program like the LonghornsWasn't the interview for the Head Coaching job at Texas (his alma mater)?
Would be great, but he's another one who would have to leave his job as assistant coach on a potential NBA championship team to be an assistant in Champaign...
I know:
The Nets have 9 assistant coaches. While Ivey has some experience, he's not the Nets' top guy (that'd be Jacque Vaughn and Mike D’Antoni). An NBA assistant coach can make anywhere from $100,000 to over a million (a huge gap and extremely hard to nail down exact salaries from my quick research). Say Texas told him he needed college coaching and recruiting experience to be considered the next time around. Theoretically, we could give him the experience he needs to be a college head coach and pay him more than he's currently making. Now is it likely? I mean, it makes about as much sense as anything right now.Wasn't the interview for the Head Coaching job at Texas (his alma mater)?

I'll take a somewhat educated guess over listing former Illini with zero coaching experience all day, every day.
Absolutely no worries. It is too late for me to edit this, so let me just say I didn't watch it to the end and was not intending to flame someone. Really I just laughed at the first 80% of the gif. Whoops.
Sorry, @The Galloping Ghost

Hard to take serious any post with a time stamp of 3:31 AM. Especially this post. We've talked about likely candidate, so, just for fun, which coach is LEAST likely to be chosen for the final AC job...can be a current head coach or assistant.
My choice: Bruce Pearl
This board would be a social psychologist’s dream. Someone throws out a random name, due to a discussion that perhaps Underwood has a NBA assistant coach in mind and needs that person’s season to end before making the hire official, and others run with it and start looking into recruiting ties this coach may possess, discussing salary factors, and hypothetical conversations he had with another school after being passed over for their head coaching gig. At least it’s entertaining while we await actual news.
