BOOM! Feed my ego.
Do you have a comment or just a snarky gif? My point was that jitter is taking a stand that we are not hiring a third AC. No one else thinks that is true and I don't either. But if he is right, then we are all wrong. So tell me what your point is. Or do you just think your little picture is sooo witty that you couldn't wait to get likes from others who apparently couldn't comprehend my point? As an aside, when did this board turn into twitter? I left twitter because of how everyone tries to pick fights and, thanks to posters like IlliniKat91, that is what this board is becoming. I snooped here for years and it was never like this. Finally joined and all it is is fighting each other and insulting each other.

So EOW has passed right? Did Sturdy predict last week? I feel like was put on here.
Sturdy said the players were told the staff would be complete by the time they returned. Doesn’t look like that happened or it’s not being announced for some reason, which has been speculated.

Meh... He could be "right"on a technicality if the new hire is Associate Head Coach or Extra Special Assistant Associate Head Coach. Jitter must be a lawyer... Or fantasizes about playing one on television.
Sure, could be right on how it’s defined per say.
Go to: Illini Basketball 2021/2022 thread, page 6, post on Friday @12:12 pm
Katz interviews BU and asks about the staff. BU talks about CF and GA and then at the 6:21 mark BU - “…we’ve still gotta fill the third spot and we’re getting close on that…”
I choose to take him at his word and like others on this board will be excited when it’s all made public.

Some folks need to get a grip. Underwood is going to land a VG assistant. The current situation is little more than a hiccup.
In the now famous words of Paul Kowalczyk, the situation is “not ideal, but for now, I don't think it'll put a dagger in the heart of the program." 😉

Everyone is just a little frustrated that we headed into an important recruiting period with 2 important staff positions open. Obviously it’s more important in the long run to get the guys BU wants. It’s just not “ideal”.

Not remotely close to that type of situation (debacle), IMO (as indicated by your 2nd paragraph).

this ole ball coach here is ALWAYS ready to leave Milford and help out on any opening in football, hoops, baseball, track and field and even wrestling. Ive coached them all, and still have all my original 3 ring binders full of notes from the 60's and 70's from coaching clinics Ive attended .

heck, I even have a whistle on a lanyard and a heather grey "property of Athletic Dept" t shirt I can wear .

So, question on the third AC. It’s been speculated on here that the current AC may still be coaching in the NBA playoffs, but would that really keep a coach from leaving? Just thinking about all of the ACs in college football who get a better job offer and don’t coach a bowl game. Presumably, the AC position at Illinois is more critical to leave unfilled because of the 247 nature of recruiting. And I think an NBA team should get along just fine without one AC. Particularly an AC that’s farther down in the pecking order, which is presumably who would leave for Illinois (ie not a Darvin Ham or Adrian Griffin, who probably make too much money and are NBA HCs in waiting).

The NBA theory makes sense on the surface but not sure it holds up to scrutiny. Hopefully this is all moot soon. Go Illini!

If it ends up being a NBA coach who is still in the playoffs right now, we will all say " now it makes sense"

if it ends up being someone else, we will all say " why did that take so long ?"

personally, I dont care that much its taken awhile. BU has his reasons.
Its not like we are a toxic destination right now and we certainly have the money to pay the right guy the number he needs.

What if telling us was not on Brad's priority list, and he has everything under control. I know the concept sounds crazy, but you know, what if?

We could make our own coaching staff
0440, TC, Indy could be head coach and assistants

Pruman could be the video department

The rest we will have to shake out on our own.

With all due respect to those guys, that's insane.

Thank you for venting. This is a safe space. You’re right, this isn’t Twitter, but this board, as an internet entity, is a small niche community.

With the current lack of news/updates the bickering has increased because there’s nothing to really to discuss pertaining to the coaching search.

We are on a really long car trip and Dad keeps pulling over and asking for directions, little bother keeps repeating the same catchphrase over and over and older sister just wants some gotdamn answers as to when we are going to get there!!

Reading the current tea leaves indicates it’s an NBA guy, and no, not Brian Randle. Could be a long June, so buckle in for a few more catchphrases, pit stops, kicks to the back of your chair, because eventually we will get to AC3 and this road trip will be over.

You forgot about Aunt Edna, ceaselessly complaining about the newfangled horseless carriage she's strapped into, but at least that keeps her from going on and on about the way that indecent Presley boy moves his hips.

From a purely journalistic point of view , one thing that the lag in the hiring of AC3 has brought out a plethora of creative posts and gif's.....

WELL DONE LOYALISTS......It sure brightens my day to see genius behind the thoughts shared here....You all know I appreciate a different slant on life and love how twisted with innuendo some of your posts have evolved to that higher plane of intellectual curiosity and expression.....

I'm pretty sure we will have an AC3 announced soon.......
Not certain, but pretty sure...don't eat the mushrooms....

I've no idea if Brian Randle is the guy. I doubt it. That said, I think he could be an excellent AC. He has pretty much everything you'd want in an AC, save for recruiting experience. But that's tempered because he has the right stuff to be a VG recruiter, provided he's willing to grind.

I just heard that BU and JW are actually playing chess and not checkers with the 3rd AC position. They are negotiating with the NCAA to exchange 1 AC for another scholarship opening! It’s unheard of but they found a loophole and it will change the whole landscape of CB!!!
If anybody believes this then I will make up more scenarios later today!

The difference is that teams are going for the championship. bowl win or no bowl win, it's not a huge deal. An NBA championship is.

I'd be curious to know how many AC football coaches left teams in the BCS championship field.

This would be amazing. We’d finally have to stop turning away all those top recruits we don’t have room for.
