It's disappointing. Considering OA was key in recruiting and coaching him, and we didn't expect Kofi back this year, this seems like more of a psychological kick in the nuts than a tangible loss. Reiterates how Kentucky has the boosters to pull of just about anything.

We're on the wrong end of a potential recruiting coup to be sure, which rubs salt in the wound after what happened with the ACs. Nothing to do but move on, no?

Sponsors of the team (let’s say Busey, for instance) have made a marketing investment that becomes more valuable as the team gets better. So Busey now has an incentive to make a marketing investment in Kofi to get him to stay.

I think Kofi is going to be extremely marketable wherever he goes. He’s a fun player and there aren’t many (any?) guys in the NCAA like him. He’s right to see what he can line up in terms of endorsements and keep his options open. But he’s also not necessarily going to go to the highest bidder. We just need to get close enough to get him to stick with the devil he knows.

I have no idea if we’re gonna be able to do that. But there are folks associated with the program who could, if they wanted to.
Gary Busey?

Why do people keep blaming big boosters at UK? As of last night, student athletes are going to legally get their bags. Just look at Andre Curbelo who signed a deal with ILLINI CREDIT UNION today. Illinois is going to be playing the game too. There's just better and bigger opportunities at Kentucky.

Is it possible that some people are in his ear telling him if you go back to college in hopes of getting better and moving up the draft board but Illinois doesn't have a big man coach then how is he suppose to get better? I think that has to be something that we can't give a good argument for!
